James William Tate was the Kentucky State Treasurer from 1867-1888. Nicknamed "Honest Dick" because of his good reputation and rapport, his nickname turned ironic when he absconded with $250,000 from the state's treasury in 1888.

This statue is a celebration of life. It is a symbol of resilience, freedom, patriotism, strength, and the will power to keep fighting for the future of America.
It also stands as a reminder of the hand of God and His protection over President Trump’s life. Time and time again, when his life was threatened, God’s mercy prevailed.
Today was not just a ribbon cutting. It was the public display of a powerful movement that has spread across America and around the world.

They are related. The incentive structure in a republic is designed to reward leaders for doing things that voters approve of. Republicans led by Trump are responding to deep, widespread, and resounding disapproval by trying to change that structure to protect their own power
