This plant is driving me a little nuts. There are several growing in a 20m stretch. Can any helpful botanists shed any light please? Growing on edge of forestry track, acid, dry, rocky area. North Wales. #wildflowerID #wildflowerhour

SHRILL CARDER BEE! We found one! This is Jacqui James, @camZoology researcher, working with farmers, @BumblebeeTrust @nationaltrust & @RestPoll on the urgent conservation of this species (Bombus sylvarum), in the most threatened of its 5 surviving UK populations, south Somerset.

Bumblebee queens are emerging. I keep finding them resting on the ground. Several Early Bumblebees today and yesterday this Heath Bumblebee - Bombus jonellus. Check out the pale hairs on the hind leg. @BumblebeeTrust
