Bengaluru just got a new soul — and you can see it the moment you land.
At the Arrival Forecourt of Terminal 2, Kempegowda International Airport Bengaluru, “Bengaluru’s Soul,” a striking new cultural landmark by critically acclaimed Spanish artist Jaume Plensa, now welcomes the world.
The installation was unveiled by H.E. Juan Antonio March Pujol, Ambassador of Spain to India, in the esteemed presence of Mr. Priyank M Kharge, Honourable Minister for Rural Development, Panchayat Raj, and Information Technology & Biotechnology, Government of Karnataka, with
@kiranshaw, Chairperson, Biocon Group, and
@HariMarar, Managing Director & CEO, Bangalore International Airport Limited (BIAL), in attendance, alongside artist Jaume Plensa.
More than an installation, it is a statement—a reflection of a city that has evolved beyond its identity as India’s tech capital into a global crossroads of culture, ideas and dialogue.
Supported by Biocon Foundation India, the sculpture represents a deeper commitment to Bengaluru’s growth, not just in science and innovation, but in spirit.
From rejuvenating lakes to strengthening urban ecology, advancing public health and enabling community development, the focus remains clear: building a city that is as thoughtful as it is forward-looking.
Because shaping a global city is not just about infrastructure.
It is about nurturing its soul.
