I want to share this research was inspired by me-search: everyday yoga practice that involves breathing and meditation and contemplation to know more biologically!
Excited to share new work from our lab showing, for the first time, a link between breathing dysregulation, stress responses, and energy metabolism via a neuropeptide receptor mechanism. This opens new ways for understanding brain–body interactions! biorxiv.org/content/10.64898…

Sleep may synchronize the brain and body in ways that protect against dementia. During sleep, norepinephrine, dopamine, serotonin, and acetylcholine oscillate together in ~50-second rhythms that help drive cerebrospinal fluid flow and glymphatic clearance of amyloid-β and tau. #SleepScience #Neuroscience #Dementia science.org/doi/10.1126/scie…

Muscle talks to the brain. 💪🧠 Exercise triggers myokines & myometabolites that boost cognition, while inactivity sends harmful signals that impair brain function. This muscle–brain crosstalk shapes behavior and resilience to aging and neurodegeneration. @WuTsaiAlliance sciencedirect.com/science/ar…

Thank you, @wasuzuki for bringing such connection, joy, and flow to our retreat this year. Sometimes what scientists need most is to get out of our heads and back into the body. The smiles say it all. 🙏✨
