Incredibly happy to see our work published in @Nature today 🥹 By combining whole-body tissue clearing, light-sheet microscopy and AI, we mapped obesity-associated remodeling across the entire mouse body in 3D at cellular resolution nature.com/articles/s41586-0…
Today in @Nature, we report MouseMapper: foundation-model AI to map disease perturbations across the entire mouse body cell-by-cell. In obesity, it revealed body-wide inflammation & unexpected facial nerve damage. 🧵👇🔉 nature.com/articles/s41586-0… led by @Dorie00 & @yingchen733

1/5 Cell identity is written in the proteome, not in the DNA, and not always in the RNA. Out on bioRxiv today: The first cell type-resolved, MS-based proteomic atlas of the human body. biorxiv.org/content/10.64898…

This image is not an illustration. It’s whole mouse bodies made transparent, with nerves, immune cells, organs and tissues lit up in 3D. It looks pretty cool! But the real story behind the image is even better. 🧵 (1/6)

This is so cool! Billions going into virtual cells, but I think Something like MouseMapper is way more helpful for translational research and pharma R&D as pathology is more than just 1 cell or receptor. It looks like the mice are dancing in a disco and they have the DISCO tissue clearing and light sheet microscopy methods too. 🐁🕺🪩👩🏻‍🔬👩🏻‍⚕️😎

An AI foundation whole-body 3D model that assesses perturbations (such as obesity) across multiple systems (such as immune, neural) at the cell level. This is MouseMapper. Imagine HumanMapper someday @Nature @erturklab nature.com/articles/s41586-0…

I am very happy to share our latest paper on cancer cachexia out in JCI !✨This study is the follow-up of our previous findings on the link between bioactive lipids and cachexia. We show that blocking ceramides’ synthesis improves body wasting and uncovered underlying mechanisms.
