TRUMP DROPS NEW ANTHEM “FOR THE BALLROOM”
WASHINGTON, D.C. — In a high-octane 60 Minutes sit-down that has already sent shockwaves through both the political and music worlds, President Donald Trump sat with Norah O’Donnell to address the recent attempt on his life and unveil a surprising new creative endeavor: a commemorative single titled “For the Ballroom.”
The interview, which aired Sunday, centered on the terrifying moments at the White House Correspondents’ Dinner when Cole Allen, 31, allegedly breached security with the intent to assassinate the President.
The atmosphere grew tense when O’Donnell asked point-blank: “Mr. President, why is it that so many people are trying to kill you?”
Trump, leaning forward with a defiant grin, dismissed the gravity of the threats.
“They try because they’re losers, Norah. They’re sick people who want to stop the greatest movement in history. But they can’t. I’m protected by something much bigger than them.”
Perhaps the most stunning claim of the night was Trump’s personal account of the takedown. While official reports credit the Secret Service with neutralizing the threat, Trump insisted he played a hands-on role in the apprehension of Cole Allen.
“I saw him coming. I didn’t hide,” Trump told a skeptical O’Donnell. “I walked right up to him. I said, ‘Not today, Cole.’ I basically arrested him personally before the guys even got there. He looked at me, he saw the strength, and he just gave up. It was a very sad moment for him, but a great moment for the country.”
The President revealed that the adrenaline of the encounter inspired him to write and release a new song, “For the Ballroom,” which he says is dedicated to the resilience of his administration and the completion of his controversial “Grand Ballroom” project in Washington.
“I wrote it myself—mostly,” Trump added. “It’s got a great beat. You can dance to it, you can march to it. It’s for the people who want to see the ballroom finished.”
“For the Ballroom” Available on all streaming platforms.
