"We're all-in on hardcore US manufacturing."
@adampbry says after China sanctioned
@SkydioHQ and "tried to kill" their company, they built "the most secure drone supply chain in the world, independent from China."
"If you roll back 12 years—basically all drones and drone components were made in China. We made a very contrarian bet in 2014 when we started U.S. manufacturing."
"A year and a half ago, we had the great honor of being sanctioned by the Chinese government. It was a pretty aggressive action."
"They announced the sanctions and then showed up at the suppliers that we still had in China, shut them down, stopped them from doing business with us, and really tried to kill us."

@adampbry says DJI almost acquired
@SkydioHQ in 2014, but Skydio turned them down because DJI didn't understand autonomy:
"We met their leadership. We visited China, Shenzhen, and ultimately decided not to do it."
"The main reason we decided not to was because they didn't really understand the importance of autonomy and how much that was going to change who could use drones and how they could use them."
