"Randi Weingarten has insisted that the American Federation of Teachers exists to defend educators. We now know what that defense actually looks like. ...the union president and her inner circle siphoned more than $1.4 million in union resources to write and promote her latest book." “Hopefully, unions become more aware of the fact that their members do have a statutory right to file unfair labor practice charges against them,” Fairness Center managing attorney Anthony Holtzman said. “It is not appropriate to retaliate against or punish somebody who exercises that right.” Read more: buff.ly/isiWRrx

Looks like the problem with education is too many school days. Maybe this way, when the teachers' union bosses order a strike, the kids will only miss 4 days of school per week. Do you think these are good solutions? Is U.S. Public Education on the right or wrong track? educationnext.org/the-quiet-…

It is becoming clear that the NEA and AFT unions and politicians have so corrupted the education system that it's more about a jobs program for teachers and the ridiculous overgrown "support Staff" that pay dues--it's not about our children and their futures. Read: "Some Philly teachers say they’re pressured to pass students who rarely come to class or do work" at the Philadelphia Inquirer "But it’s an open secret that in many schools, it is nearly impossible to fail a student, according to interviews with two dozen teachers from schools across the city who say the district is making them give passing grades. "Many teachers said they passed students who did little or no work, did not understand concepts being taught, or did not show up to class much. Most of the teachers interviewed requested anonymity for fear of reprisal."

“When school children start paying union dues, that’s when I’ll start representing the interests of school children.” — AFT Union Boss Albert Shanker see: Disregard for students showcased in Sheridan CO teacher strike - completecolorado.com/2026/05…

Mike's right, when is the focus going to be on the abuse by teacher unions of the students they hold hostage while disrupting their educations? The Sheridan teachers did have a legal right to strike, but not a morally justifiable one. They seriously disrupted the lives of innocent schoolchildren and their parents, holding them hostage to the union’s demands. When a grocery union strikes, customers can do business elsewhere. However, teachers are government employees within a school district that has a monopoly on publicly funded education. And unlike private-sector employers, Colorado school boards can refuse to recognize a union. completecolorado.com/2026/05…

In case you missed it...Turns out Randi Weingarten’s self-promoting ‘book’ was a big scam all along Teacher union honcho Randi Weingarten’s 2025 vanity book “Why Fascists Fear Teachers” isn’t just a self-promoting, self-glorifying soliloquy: The unreadable screed also served as a helpful cash conduit for Weingarten and her friends to make bank on the back of teachers’ union dues. nypost.com/2026/05/19/opinio…

Public School Teachers, you don't have to support teacher union politics thanks to the U.S. Supreme Court ruling in Janus v. AFSCME - visit MyJanusRights.org and stop paying union dues and fees today, and learn more about your constitutional rights.
NEW: Here is the official ballot Chicago Teachers Union members will use May 20-21 to vote on whether to hike dues by up to $800 per member, giving union leadership an additional $8.5M for political spending. Union leadership has stated that the No. 1 reason for this dues hike proposal is to fund Chicago school board candidates in November. Even though the union’s own bylaws state: “our dues are not used for political purposes.” This kind of double-speak is one reason members are concerned about the second vote on this ballot: an attempt to stop members from holding union leadership accountable. The proposed amendment to the union constitution tries to place limits on when members may bring a lawsuit against the union for violating members’ rights.

Unions should not be in schools covering up the harm teachers do to students... bad teachers don't help anyone in the school system perform better.
An Arizona teachers’ union is actively covering up a sexual misconduct investigation and punishing a board member for demanding answers. In Peoria Unified School District, two former Centennial High School teachers have been accused of sexual misconduct involving the same student. Peoria police have recommended charges, and the Maricopa County Attorney’s Office is reviewing the cases. But instead of demanding transparency and an investigation, the Peoria chapter of the Arizona Education Association (AEA) has circulated a petition to REMOVE the board member fighting for the truth. Madison WI schools fully closed May 1 after 70% teachers union members joined protests. Tens of thousands of kids lost a day of learning forever. Extortion & tantrum tactics harm students personally: disrupted routines, family stress, widening gaps. Unions prioritizing politics over education? Kids lose. channel3000.com/news/madison… | wkow.com/news/mmsd-cancels-s…

NC "Kids Over Corporations" rally (May 1) led to school closures as teachers' union actions disrupted classes statewide. Kids lost irreplaceable learning time while adults used absences/extortion tactics for demands. This personally harms students: gaps widen, routines break, stress rises. Temper tantrums don't fix education—they hurt the children most. Put kids first. Links: wral.com/news/education/nc-p… | ednc.org/5-1-2026-nc-teacher…

More states and localities need to support teachers' choice and stop helping union bosses force teachers into unwanted union control over their workplaces...
The Florida teachers union president admitted that their lawsuit to end school choice "is a LAST RESORT." Those control freaks will lose.

More and more teachers and parents are exposing teacher union activities that have nothing to do with teachers' wages or working conditions....
Teachers’ unions are showing families that school comes second to politics, from planning May Day protests to keeping schools closed during COVID to shifting focus away from fundamentals and toward ideological instruction. 🎥 @TudorDixon

Most school Admins were or are members of the NEA or AFT Unions - this is another reason why more teachers are choosing not to be a part of the NEA/AFT school monopolies

Reality Bites
"New York City spends roughly $37 billion/year to educate about 850,000 kids. That's over $42,000 per child per year. And the results are abysmal. Two-thirds of fourth graders can't do math properly and almost three-quarters can't read at grade level... ...What we can do, Mr. Mayor, is tell every mom in NYC that the $42,000 currently spent on that terrible education is going to be her money." Jeff Yass, one of the 2026 Alexander Hamilton Award honorees, on how we can solve NYC's education crisis through school choice.

Public employees are not owned by their unions. Across the country, reforms are growing that strengthen worker choice, increase transparency, and require unions to actually earn and maintain support instead of relying on automatic systems and political influence. Freedom Foundation’s @MaxfordNelsen and Rusty Brown explain it all in a new piece from @EpochTimes. theepochtimes.com/us/more-st…
