استقبل سفير خادم الحرمين الشريفين لدى جمهورية مصر العربية صالح بن عيد الحصيني، في مقر السفارة، المفوض العام لوكالة الأمم المتحدة لإغاثة وتشغيل اللاجئين الفلسطينيين في الشرق الأدنى "الأونروا" كريستيان سوندرز، وذلك خلال زيارته الرسمية الأولى إلى جمهورية مصر العربية منذ توليه مهام منصبه. وأقام السفير بهذه المناسبة مأدبة عشاء حضرها سفراء الدول العربية والإسلامية وممثلون عن جامعة الدول العربية، حيث قدم المفوض العام إحاطة عن أنشطة الوكالة وجهودها الإنسانية في خدمة اللاجئين الفلسطينيين، ورؤيتها للمرحلة المقبلة في مجالات التعليم والرعاية الصحية وتمكين الشباب. وأكد السفير الحصيني في ختام اللقاء دعم المملكة الثابت للقضية الفلسطينية، وحرصها على مواصلة العمل مع الشركاء العرب والدوليين لضمان استمرار دعم وتمويل الأونروا وتعزيز دورها الإنساني.

In Cairo, @CFSaundersUN visited @EG_Red_Crescent, a valued #UNRWA partner. Dr. Amal Emam explained the Egyptian Red Crescent’s efforts supporting the humanitarian response in #Gaza, including the latest “Zad AlIzza 210” convoy."

Most children in #Gaza are displaced, many living in tents or overcrowded shelters. The noticeable rise in cases of diseases is especially painful for children. While UNRWA continues delivering essential services including shelter and sanitation, rodents, overcrowding and poor hygiene conditions are direct causes for the spread of disease. People in Gaza need proper homes. Supplies need to be allowed in at scale.

What does a football field mean to a #Palestinian child? In Aida Camp, it means a safe place to play, build friendships, simply be a child. Last week, #EU Heads of Mission visited the camp and met students and community members who rely on #UNRWA’s services every day. Supported by @EUpalestinians, this field serves more than 1,000 users weekly.

Prevention is the strongest protection against sexual exploitation and abuse. We act early to stop harm before it happens through: ✅ Mandatory training ✅ Safer recruitment & vetting ✅ Targeted risk assessments ✅ Community outreach & awareness-raising #NoExcuse

Beyond the classroom, @UNRWA schools invest in the future of every child. ✨💙 With the constant encouragement of dedicated teachers, UNRWA supports young girls like Jouri to lead, experiment, build confidence, & pave their own professional paths!

Last week, students from @UNRWA schools in the West Bank came together to mark #WorldFootballDay with @ps4lorg and @CanadaRepPA. Through football and creative activities, students explored teamwork while learning more about Canada as a FIFA World Cup host. Thank you to our partners and all those involved.
