The keys to Camp Bagnold in Mali have been handed to Lt Col Robinson of the Long Range Reconnaissance Group in a symbolic parade. Our troops are deployed to Mali supporting the @UN_MINUSMA mission with @UNPeacekeeping in the country. π²π±π¬π§

I started quarantine ahead of deploying to Kabul today. Canβt wait to join the troops from @2_SCOTS and @The_Black_Rats HQ team....but before I set off I had to give the most important Orders for β21 β¬οΈ to my children...hopefully they will behave... Happy New Year! @BritishArmy

Goodbye and good luck to Lt Col Moore, CO 1LANCS as he hands over the reigns to Lt Col Carr.
Lt Col Moore has lead the Battalion on two operational deployments and most recently on its commitments to the national response to Covid-19.

Today 2 MERCIAN were visited by 4th Inf Brigade Comd, Brigadier Brown. He awarded two LS & GC medals, a 1XX GOC Commendation and a Comdβs Coin to some of our soldiers!

Today the Regiment welcomed three new Officers to the family after the Sovereign's Parade at the Royal Military Academy Sandhurst. They were personally welcomed by The Colonel of the Regiment after the parade, with a select number of their family.
