ALT An Amrita paper shows how AI can improve breast cancer grade classification in medical imaged. A joint study by Amrita School of Computing and Amrita School of Medicine titled "SwinCNN: An Integrated Swin Transformer and CNN for Improved Breast Cancer Grade Classification" has been published in IEEE Access journal (impact factor 3.9). To help beat breast cancer odds, Amrita School of Computing's PhD student, Sreelekshmi V and Prof. Jyothisha J Nair worked with Amrita School of Medicine's Dr. Pavithran to automatically process different histopathology images using Artificial Intelligence to identify breast cancer and its corresponding grade. Their #AI algorithm is a hybrid multi-class classification model using depth-wise separable convolutional networks and transformers. ALT Amrita students Triumph at Hacktheon CTF in South Korea. Amritapuri campus' students Sidharth V, Nithin Chenthur, Jayanth Katragadda, Nandu S Pillai, Srijiith S, Alfin Joseph of CSE 3rd year, Sejal Koshta of 3rd year EAC, Mohith LS of BCA 3rd year and Suraj Kumar, Rohith G, Chandra B Nair, and Arun Krishnan of 2nd year CSE clinched the prestigious Hacktheon CTF Competition held in Sejong, South Korea on June 19th. The team emerged victorious, securing the Grand Prize of ₩2,000,000 along with an additional Excellent Prize of ₩500,000, totaling ₩2.5 million Korean Won. The students are part of Team bi0s , a cyber-security enthusiast club and research group based at our Amritapuri campus. At the event hosted by Sejong International University in collaboration with the Korea Institute of Information Security and Cryptology, team bi0s stood out as the sole representatives from India at the offline finals on June 20th.
