Pretty pumped to top the board despite only enough time for 54 events this season. Hopefully the first of many.

Civil disobedience: 1) Non-violently transgress a law you believe unjust 2) Accept the legal consequences 3) A public shocked by the harshness of the punishment forces changes in the law. Palestine Action: 1) Smash property and hurt people 2) Demand to be exempted from legal consequences 3) A public shocked by the violence of the crimes committed thinks, "actually these sentences seem rather light under the circumstances."
UK government's ban on Palestine Action is lawful, Court of Appeal says, overturning earlier ruling bbc.in/4uMempi

I have been a lifelong Democrat. I am remaining a Democrat because I refuse to surrender our party to bigots who hate America. Having said that, we seem to have an increasing number of bigots who hate America in our party.

There is something seriously wrong, catastrophically wrong even, if the Democrats can force out the INCUMBENT PRESIDENT based on a bad debate at great risk but refuse to do it to edgelord manwhore Nazi tit tattoo that was a Republican until two seconds ago.
It would be a lot better for the country and for the Democratic Party if Platner were to drop out. If he doesn't want to, Party leadership should make whatever threats are necessary to convince him to make the right choice.

People that have developed a parasocial relationship with the word ‘genocide’ are weird. It’s nothing more than a chant or a slogan now and doesn’t improve the lives of Palestinians in any meaningful way
Hasan Piker says if Tom Steyer had acknowledged Israel is committing genocide he would've endorsed him "If Steyer came out and said 'Israel is committing genocide and I'm gonna make sure we're not spending our resources on a country doing war crimes' he would've dusted Becerra"

While I'm grateful to see this sort of pushback, "well-intended" should not be appended when progressives cause predictable harm. The data on standardized tests was both knowable and known before people fought for their removal. The push was wrong from the beginning.
Eliminating standardized admission tests hurt low-income kids and people of color. A well-intended disaster for which those responsible should apologize, but won't.

One day AI will cure a disease. And many people in this platform will look you dead in the eye and say “the cure was already in the corpus of human knowledge and it’s not truly intelligent”

Russia is stupidly provoking WWIII by resisting the Great Power of Ukraine. Putin should stop the killing and give up territory for peace. Thanks for tuning in to the latest episode of Realist Geopolitics.

I simply cannot believe I live in a timeline where journalists helped force the last president out of his reelection campaign for being too old, so the country put an unstable 79 year old who falls asleep constantly in office and none of the same journalists care at all.
Trump appears to be completely asleep at his desk during his mid-morning event

I still see people, who claim to be Democrats, nonstop doubling down on how decrepit, feeble, incapable, and elderly Biden was even though reality has shown that is 100% not true. They fell for a scam. It should be asked, why are there so many psychological, economic, and other incentives for Democrats to tear down their own candidate, party, and administration but you'll never see a Republican offering criticism of Trump even a quarter as fervent what an average Democrat is encouraged to say about Biden? Every day, people are falling for the scam. They can't see it. It's the biggest story of the century, and they don't know what's going on, and why they feel the way they do. It's genuinely depressing.
It's been two years since The Debate and he's still making public appearances. I understand that social media incentive structures make any kind of public introspection a nonstarter, but maybe in their quiet moments reporters can ask themselves if they got something wrong.

I think it's pretty interesting that we saw massive wage compression from 2014 to 2024 and outside of a hand-full of economists ~ zero people who claimed to care about inequality noticed or cared

all the “how much will the gerrymandering wars affect the midterms” discussions are going to look real quaint once gas starts hitting $7 a gallon.
Every. Single. State. Has higher gas prices today compared to a week ago. Biggest jumps: IN 84c/gal (yes, 84 cents in a WEEK) MI 72c/gal OH 60c/gal IL 39c/gal NM 37c/gal
