Can Seaweed Save the World? | The Martino Brothers are taking a gamble that there’s an appetite for the sugar kelp they’re harvesting off #MarthasVineyard – both as a climate change fighter and tasty addition to our plates. buff.ly/3CRP1AR#BluedotLiving@CottageCity
Very proud of undergraduate student Katie Kost for presenting preliminary results of her Gracilaria tikvahiae experiment investigating optimal light and temperature culturing conditions for this economically viable seaweed species at @theAAG@NestvalGeo! @SCSUEGMS@CottageCity
If you think it was hot in Europe...think again. Plants, animals, and humans do not survive in these conditions for very long. This is at 1.2C of warming....what will an El Niño year bring?
Had to pull this chart out from @ZLabe on Antarctic sea ice extent. Another record being smashed. Lowest level sea ice extent ever recorded this year. That is an ugly trend and hugely concerning from the coldest place on Earth.
