DeSantis sitting out the succession fight never made sense to me.
Not because anyone is owed anything.
Because he built the Florida model, fought the war and now the question is who gets the keys.
It’s a succession test.

Similarly donate even a dollar to the campaign at jayforflorida.com to show that you care more about preserving the Florida model than you do about allowing machine politics to become the norm.
One might say you can even Rage against it even. 😏
Lieutenant Governor Jay Collins is standing against the machine that wants Florida Republicans to ratify a choice instead of make one.
The machine made "10,000 donors" part of the standard.
So give them 10,000 voters.
Go to JayForFlorida.com and donate the lowest amount allowed.
This isn't about buying influence.
It's about proving Florida Republicans want comparison, not coronation.
Jay Collins is willing to be tested.
Help him break through.

The Florida model was built by fighting managed politics. It cannot be inherited through managed politics.
Jay Collins is not asking to be protected from the test. He’s asking for the test, while @ByronDonalds attempts to avoid it,
@FloridaGOP hold a real debate.
Let voters compare.

Couldn’t agree with our Governor more.
Let’s not insult the voters’ intelligence.
Debates are not going to be the end all be all for this race.
That said, if @ByronDonalds can’t show up to one, and if he keeps hiding behind the RPOF, voters need to take notice.
I will add that there is something charming about people who lack the nerve to debate a cartoon gator becoming instant authorities on who would dominate a gubernatorial debate stage.
Their courage, apparently, blooms only in hypothetical arenas. 😏
The confidence some have in @Paul_Renner’s debate skills is impressive, considering most acquired it without ever watching him actually debate.
They talk about him like medieval peasants talked about kings they’ve never met.
Same people themselves run from debate at every opportunity
Enthusiasm for debate seems it’s strongest when someone else has to take the stage.
"Barzini will move against you first. He’ll set up a meeting with someone that you absolutely trust, guaranteeing your safety. And at that meeting, you’ll be assassinated. [...] Now listen — whoever comes to you with this Barzini meeting — he’s the traitor. Don’t forget that."
Every machine has a Barzini meeting.
and it never arrives as “please surrender.”
It arrives as: be reasonable, accept the forum, stop asking for a debate, don’t disrupt the process.
If the process needs bodyguards, the process is the problem.
Whoever tells you to accept the non-debate as reasonable is telling you where the pressure is working.

Governor @RonDeSantis is right
Floridians don't need gatekeepers deciding what debates they're allowed to see
They need a stage, a moderator, and 90 minutes
1,700 Floridians have already signed
The octagon is open

The chairman of the party should not be insulting the intelligence of Republican voters. A debate was promised and these ridiculous criteria are being used to renege on that promise and to engineer a preferred outcome.
Why not just take 90 minutes, find a tv partner, and let the candidates mix it up?
The only reason why you wouldn’t is if the party hierarchy is serving outside interests instead of the best interests of the voters.

First it was a debate.
Then it was one candidate.
Then it became a forum.
Then another candidate was invited.
Then he was removed.
They tried to avoid a messy debate and created a messier non-debate.
That is what happens when a party "manages" a primary instead of simply testing candidates.
Republican voters deserve clarity, comparison, and candidates willing to stand there and answer.

What it all boils down to is they want to select the nominee themselves, they don’t want us to.
Both Donalds and the RPOF have little to no respect for actual, everyday Floridians….they can deny it, but actions speak louder than words.
