Absolutely @Papa_Heme - Dr. Kurzrock is the mentor of mentors. She pushed us higher, challenged our limits, & was the one person I could always count on for bold, “out‑of‑the‑box” ideas. She’s at least ten years ahead of the field - which explains why all our ideas are out of the box @Dr_R_Kurzrock @DavidHongMD @FilipJankuMD @GarridoLagunaMD @weldeiry

What we were able to show to the pharmaceutical world, is not something that had been done before: our score was highly significant in predicting patients’ response to a novel FGFR inhibitor based on molecular data we analyzed while blinded to the outcomes of the clinical trial.

We have GBM patient we assisted, 5-6 years out in remission! Definition of insanity is doing the same thing expecting different results.
An amazing editorial. Stupp says it’s time to move beyond Stupp. I agree. For GBM, every patient needs a clinical trial in front line. Stupp moved the field 20 years ago, but now we need more; oncology is being transformed; GBM should not continue to be left behind

Molecular Tumor Boards serve a great role as to treatment recommendations. #PrecisionOncology based on specific tumor molecular alterations, has voluminous multi-omic data. Millions of combos, each cancer 5 mutations on average, a trillion patterns! We can help. @Dr_R_Kurzrock

Good for him. We use the same therapy as in 2005, when Stupp was published, and everyone is dead at 3 years. And it’s not a nice death either. Another example of “do anything but standard of care”.

Here we go again. Treat early
New from #AACR26: A small clinical trial (8-person) at MSK is showing promise for people with early-stage #rectalcancer whose tumors are driven by excessive amounts of a protein called HER2 (human epidermal growth factor receptor 2).
The trial, led by MSK gastrointestinal medical oncologists Dr. @MikeFooteMD and Dr. @AndreaCercek, suggests that many of these patients may be successfully treated using targeted therapies to avoid surgery, resulting in fewer side effects and better quality of life during and after treatment.
