Far too many physicians are burned out by a system Uncle Sam created, colluding with the AMA, no more than a government subcontractor. I don't know a physician that belongs to this organization. GKS
“The cracks in our health system are no longer small fractures ... hidden beneath the walls. They are structural failures affecting lives every single day.” In his inaugural address as the AMA’s 181st president, Willie Underwood III, MD, MSc, MPH, delivers a call to action for medicine. From physician shortages and burnout to persistent barriers to care, he highlights the challenges facing patients and physicians, as well as the responsibility to build a more equitable, accessible health system for all.

Hospital systems and their lobbyists routinely invoke struggling rural hospitals to oppose efforts to reduce Medicaid waste, fraud, and abuse. But the numbers tell a very different story. New op-ed from @Paragon_Inst's Liam Sigaud. 1/2 thecentersquare.com/opinion/…

You trust your doctor to give you an accurate diagnosis - shouldn't you expect them to provide clear pricing? Transparent communication is essential to the doctor/patient relationship, but costs too frequently remain a mystery. At Surgery Center of Oklahoma, we've been giving you all the information you need to make informed healthcare decisions...including the cost, since 1997. Visit SurgeryCenterOK.com and price your procedure today!

The ACA caused the prices to skyrocket. Until that is acknowledged/repealed your next move (whatever that is) will bring more DC slop and worsen the situation.
This Administration’s cuts to Medicaid and Speaker Johnson’s refusal to extend the ACA tax credits have led to skyrocketing healthcare costs for working families. Our medical providers shouldn’t have to take the fall for this unnecessary healthcare crisis. I will continue to fight in Congress to lower healthcare costs for families in CA-19 and across the country.  politico.com/news/2026/05/17…

When Surgery Center of Oklahoma opened in 1997, the idea that patients should know the price of surgery in advance was really unusual. Rather than follow the status quo, founders Dr. Keith Smith and Dr. Steven Lantier believed patients deserved clarity before deciding on surgery. In 2009, we began publishing our bundled procedure prices online, allowing patients to see one all-inclusive price before scheduling care. This radical departure in healthcare communication started a movement that continues to grow. Price your procedure today: surgerycenterok.com

Chefs can own restaurants. Lawyers can own law firms. But for 16 years, federal law has stood in the way of doctors opening or expanding hospitals. It’s time to lift the ACA’s restrictions on physician-owned hospitals and let them compete on the same footing as traditional hospitals. t2m.io/sVKpgiZ

New from me for @Paragon_Inst: Physician-owned hospitals can increase competition and improve affordability. But the ACA effectively barred new ones from opening and existing ones from expanding. It’s time to lift these restrictions. Read more ⬇️
