Closing out the week with a shout out to @OIGUSDA for ushering yet another criminal to Federal prison. This one stole more than $2.1 million of YOUR tax dollars through his grocery store, Taste of India. Hope he enjoys the Taste of Prison Food. justice.gov/usao-wdva/pr/lyn…

.@USDA understands the importance of accessible and affordable childcare services for D.C. Federal employees. The decision by a private company to not renew its contracts because it was losing money reaffirms the Department's decision to transition staff to more affordable communities, where childcare, among other needs, is available and more economical.

Today, I sent a response to the Maryland Congressional Democrat delegation. For years, the Beltsville Agricultural Research Center—BARC—was allowed to literally fall apart. More than half its buildings are awaiting demolition. Meanwhile, that same delegation sunk BILLIONS of your tax dollars into the Purple Line, which is years behind schedule and billions over budget. But suddenly, after both an Office of Special Counsel finding that BARC is an unsafe workplace AND @USDA's decision to provide more modern facilities for cutting edge agricultural research, the Maryland Democrats have something to say. 🤔

An accountable and merit-based federal workforce is imperative to innovation, performance, and outcomes. @POTUS' Executive Order is a game changer, and @USDA looks forward to implementing these much needed reforms. Big shout out to James Sherk for his comments and years of work to modernize the federal workforce!
.@POTUS signs an Executive Order on reforming federal workforce accountability: "What this does is basically treats those employees like private sector workers. They can be hired on the basis of merit and confidence, but if they're messing up, then they can be removed quickly rather than taking a year or longer to get rid of them."

This morning, I sent a response to House Democrats, apologists for leftist organizations and the welfare complex. The reorganization of @USDA_FNA is long overdue. Decades with no Senate confirmed leadership. Fragmented and siloed program staff. Rampant fraud and erroneous payments. Every DAY, @USDA spends nearly $385 million on domestic nutrition programs. I will not apologize for getting a better bang for the American taxpayers' buck.

Deputy Secretary Stephen Vaden retweeted
As expected, @USDA_APHIS confirmed the detection of a New World Screwworm (NWS) fly in a 3 week old bovine in Zavala County, Texas.  @USDA and Texas Animal Health @TAHC officials are taking immediate action to contain and eradicate NWS from the area.  For more information visit SCREWWORM.GOV  More info ⬇️ aphis.usda.gov/news/agency-a…

Just wrapped up a virtual meeting with ~50 of our outstanding Texas cattle ranchers and @TAHC. I also have been in contact with @GregAbbott_TX, @LtGovTX, and the @Burrows4TX team. Our food supply is 100% safe. This potential New World Screworm detection is being fully contained and is not a harm to the American food supply or consumer safety. The NWS specimen has arrived at the airport in Ames, IA and is being transferred to National Veterinary Services Laboratories (NVSL). We will update as soon as we have confirmed test results. Unfortunately, the open-border policies of the last administration and the resulting illicit cattle movement throughout Mexico have caused NWS to potentially reach our side of the border. BUT, there is no one better than Texas and our live stock producers to have in this fight. All models showed NWS coming to the U.S. last summer/early fall — so a big thank you to our partners across the industry and local, state and the entire Trump administration for unprecedented action that gave us almost an extra year to prepare for this moment. Together with so many partners, including the Texas Animal Health Commission, Texas A&M AgriLife, Texas Farm Bureau, Texas Cattle Feeders and Texas & Southwestern Cattle Raisers Association, we will effectively combat, contain and eventually eradicate this pest. Additional @USDA personnel have arrived in South Texas to support our partners on the ground. The National Veterinary Stockpile is ready to deploy and on its way. I now call on our producers to be vigilant and watchful. The most effective thing to do right now is to put eyes on all live stock. If you see anything suspicious, contact your state animal health official (linked on the screwworm.gov website). Texas cattle and live stock producers are the backbone of our state and our nation. We will meet this challenge head-on. Go to SCREWWORM.GOV for daily updates.

While in Chicago for the @WSJ Global Food Forum, I was able to escape the city for rural Indiana. Together with @INFarmBureau, I met with local producers to discuss @USDA's recent specialty crop announcement and the importance of consistent and affordable fertilizer access. Huge thank you to @mixdesigninc for hosting and telling agriculture's amazing story to the next generation.

Today, I sent a response letter to the Senate regarding the reorganization of @forestservice. Sometimes, the truth hurts. The Biden Administration overhired—by thousands—knowing the funding stream was temporary. And on January 17, 2025, Secretary Vilsack received approval to separate 7,000 Forest Service employees. At one point, the Biden USDA even contemplated selling Federal lands to solve their spending problem! They generated hundreds of pages of memoranda, emails, and presentations on how to fix a problem THEY created with their irresponsible spending, prioritization of DEI, and gimmicks for their Democrat friends. Gone are the days of living beyond our means. The @USDA reorganization is thoughtful, service-oriented, and within the bounds of its annual budget. @POTUS and @SecRollins expect nothing less.

Honored to join @usdaRD and a crowd of rural electric cooperatives to celebrate the 90th anniversary of the Rural Electrification Act. This law transformed our country, and improved the quality of life for so many of our farmers and rural communities. Before the law’s enactment, barely 10% of American farms had electricity. As new demands on our resources come about, and as technological innovation continues to advance, @USDA is committed to continuing the legacy of the Rural Electrification Act by supporting affordable, accessible electricity.

Glad to have a former US Attorney on the team!
The era of unchecked fraud against the American taxpayer is over. I’m proud to serve as Executive Director of the @WHFraudTF led by @VP Vance and @AfergusonFTC. As a former Trump United States Attorney, I’m continuing the fight against criminals who exploit our nation. My promise to you is this: we will fight EVERY DAY to protect you and your loved ones from fraudsters who steal from YOU and threaten our most vulnerable fellow Americans. 🇺🇸

Stealing funds from the American taxpayer and communities in need is heinous. Today, Aimee Bock was sentenced for her role in the years-long Feeding Our Future scandal. I appreciate the ongoing work of @TheJusticeDept, @OIGUSDA, and local law enforcement, who continue to make certain any individual part of this fraud is held accountable.
Justice Served: Ringleader of Massive $250M Child Nutrition Fraud Sentenced to Over 41 Years Aimee Bock, mastermind behind the Feeding Our Future scheme, was just sentenced to more than 41 years in federal prison ordered to pay ~$243 million in restitution. This nonprofit exploited the Child and Adult Care Food Program (CACFP) and Summer Food Service Program, programs meant to feed vulnerable kids and adults with nutritious meals at daycares, schools, parks, and more. Instead, Bock and dozens of others opened 250 fake “sites” across Minnesota, fabricating meal counts for thousands of nonexistent children just days after setup. Aimee Bock and her friends created shell companies, submitted phony rosters, laundered funds, paid kickbacks/bribes… and ballooned from $3.4M in 2019 to nearly $200M in 2021, stealing over $240 million total in federal funds. The money? Luxury cars, fancy homes in MN (plus Ohio, Kentucky, Kenya, Turkey), and lavish travel. All while kids went hungry. Huge credit to @JusticeDept, @USDA_OIG, and federal prosecutors for holding these fraudsters accountable. Today, justice was served. Aimee Bock should be an example to all aiming to cheat the American taxpayer. The whole of government and law enforcement will find you, prosecute you, and jail you.

The reorganization of @USDA is important to farm families across the U.S. Bringing research, program expertise, and institutional knowledge closer to production agriculture is important to @POTUS and the men and women who feed, fuel, and clothe our great nation. Thank you to the city of #Indianapolis, Director Don Lamb of the State Department of Agriculture, @INFarmBureau, and @PurdueAg for hosting me and showing the best of USDA's future hub.

This rule is about retailers who pocket $90B annually in taxpayer dollars having to stock actual food (proteins, grains, dairy, produce), more than double the ridiculous minimum that previously existed. No more jelly-is-a-fruit loophole. Basic accountability for stores, not cart police. This is about ensuring there is REAL FOOD to put in the cart. Try reporting facts next time. 🤷‍♂️
Rollins will soon issue a rule requring grocery store clerks to walk around stores with all 40 million SNAP recipients to see what they are putting in their shopping carts. #SNAPNanny

Today's announcement is more than a decade in the making. If you want to accept a portion of the $236 million in daily SNAP benefits, then the least you can do is have a minimum of 28 different items on your shelves. Our most vulnerable families deserve healthier options. @USDA trusts that authorized retailers are in the business of selling food. Fraudulent storefronts need not apply. Because your days of stealing from the taxpayer are over.
USDA is putting REAL FOOD back at the center 🥦🫐 Updates to the minimum SNAP retailer stocking standards help ensure vulnerable families have nutritious options wherever they shop, advancing @SecRollins' commitment to healthy choices, healthy families, and healthy outcomes.
