🚨 Anthropic just launched Claude Fable 5 (Mythos), and it is not just another version. It is a new class of model that sits above Opus.
Fable 5 is state of the art on nearly every benchmark that matters: 80.3% on SWE-Bench Pro, more than double Opus 4.8 on the hardest coding tasks. Stripe used it to run a migration on a 50 million line Ruby codebase in a single day, work that needed a full team and two months by hand.
It also reads screenshots well enough to rebuild an app from them, holds focus across millions of tokens, and its locked-down twin (Mythos 5) is already speeding up real drug design and genomics research.
Here is the translation for those of us who build: the models keep leveling up every few weeks. The edge was never the tool. It is the builder who knows what to build and how to direct it. That is still the last skill, and it is the one we train.
