To celebrate the 25th birthdday of Quake II, Yamagi Quake II 8.20 was released today!
There have been several bugfixes and improvements, like a better video menu and support for footstep sounds.

There's a dark corridor with some long vertical lights in the walls and the railgun is being shot, it shoots a spiralling blue particle beam (with white particles in the center), at the end there's an explosion, where a flying enemy was hit.

So .. there are some Windows (10) systems on which the USERNAME environment variable is not set. And that wrecks all kinds of stuff. But I've never found anything online suggesting it should actually be possible? Is anyone here smarter about this than google/SO?
