Ask yourself, what risks will I actively engage in to move anti-racism in a way that it benefits ALL learners- especially those who have been underserved in this system? Make that your plan moving forward. #antiracismEd

This also happens when institutions utilize Black labour to advise & volunteer for free to review and help fix their racist policies. Black bodies die doing anti Black racism dismantling ALL FOR FREE @olailu @IOrughu @AdvocacyPeel @DisruptingABR @VACAORG @PoBCAdvocate
“People use Black people’s labour and products and (achievements) without any compensation,” said @hadiyaroderique. “And this happens repeatedly with Black art, intelligence, leadership, thought leadership…” by @DanicaSamuel thestar.com/news/gta/2021/07…

When I hear non-survivors say how “heavy” learning/teaching about past & ongoing canada colonial violence and genocide is, I think to myself “heavy” is actually living it. #realresilience

Morning y'all. FYI, 43 schools @ 6 different Ontario boards have signed on to run the anti-Black racism course we created. And we have completed a curriculum redraft after an exhaustive review of critical feedback from profs across country. @Sflecce, why not all schools???

We do not appreciate @OSSTF namedropping @POBCADvocate at #AMPA2021 in an attempt to prove "allyship". We stand with DABRAC. All day, every day
FTR: PoBC is not working in any capacity with OSSTF Provincial. We do not have any formalized relationship with OSSTF and we are not cultivating a formalized relationship with OSSTF. @osstf @D16OSSTF @OSSTFD19 @OSSTF21

This is a call out for the development of specific consultation, consent and media release policies for ANYTHING involving indigenous Education, families and children. “INTENT” never justifys harmful “IMPACTS” 😕 #setitupright #donoharm #publicappology #215children

And @HWDSB continues their pattern of gaslighting⬇️🧵⬇️ Chair Danko, there's no "maybe" about the silencing Ahona experienced, it's not something she just "felt"! IT IS WHAT HAPPENED! Stop the insidiously violent attacks to discredit her experiences. This is my daughter's life!
Public board hopes new governance review makes policies more equitable @HWDSB #HamOnt @KatrinaAClarke reports torstar.co/4vr550F1Cpd

Is it appropriate for board to make statements on the issue? Survivors in my family say: No. Think about that... #215children
It's important when talking about what happened to the 215 Indigenous children to remember to use active terms instead of passive ones. No "children died at residential school." That's a rhetorical sleight of hand to avoid responsibility. Teachers and administrators killed them.
