A dramatic day as it becomes clear that 'radical' change to NHSE is not just political rhetoric. All roads seem to lead to a slimmed down centre focused on improving the numbers, on performance and finance, but given the state of 18wks and local pushback on cuts it's a big task

A lot of interesting candidates in here, as well as the big names (Timothy, Alexander, Harrison), there are AI specialists, life science lifers and clinicians from a range of parties. Will be exciting to see which become health and science champions in the next Parliament!

My thoughts on a low key Budget for health and social care - clear the government wants the NHS to deliver more with what it has, but with pay settlements incoming and the need to expand capacity to deliver the PM's pledge, questions on funding will only get louder

Interesting on medicines regulation from Hunt - expediting MHRA review will be welcomed by industry, but to deliver on the goal of speeding up access to treatment it will need to be accompanied by broader measures in the new VPAS

Congratulations to Amanda Pritchard - it's never an easy time to be NHS CEO but it does seem like a particularly Herculean task right now. As a public figure, Stevens is a difficult act to follow - it will be fascinating to see how she approaches the job incisivehealth.com/2021/07/2…

A timely look at the big healthcare issues facing Biden from @TobyBevan2 - the US system often feels very distant from the UK but changes in medicines policy could have a significant impact across the world. One to watch for 2021!
In light of @JoeBiden's #Inauguration, Incisive Health's Toby Bevan lends his perspective as to what his victory means for US healthcare policy. #Biden #healthcare #ObamaLegacy incisivehealth.com/biden-tim…

The NHS has made huge progress in adopting digital health in a short amount of time but it's vital that there's recognition of the trade offs and for patients to be part of the conversation on what the future looks like
Remote consultations have emerged as a key method of care delivery during #COVID19. But if they're here to stay longer term, how do we bring patients with us? @LauraTantum gives this some thought in our latest blog: incisivehealth.com/the-docto…
