"Sorry, you can't play in the World Cup because Mark was crap at geography at school."
Shouldn't one of the requirements for a country to qualify to play in the World Cup that it be a country that people have heard of?

Just reading this from @hanleyPa - it is excellent. Prompted vague memories of the Burnley and Pendle Musicians Collective. Did I ever tell you about digging a drainage trench with a member of The Notsensibles when Deeply Vale was coming to Edenfield? Via Route.

With the possible exception of Jim Iley (I was quite young) I would agree with this.

RT @hahellyer: This is demonstrably false and really nonsense - and as the former Home Secretary, she knows it. Any interview where she say…

Fair. We didn’t ask for 65% when we left!
Replying to @edwinhayward
Or, put another way: It's possible that support for Brexit will never fall below a floor within the lifetime of those who still believe in it. That floor may be 25% to 35% of the population. So demanding >65% desire for Rejoin before we even try is a self-defeating absurdity.

Tomorrow the Court of Appeal rules on the ban of Palestine Action as a terrorist organisation. In February, the High Court ruled the ban unlawful. The Government decided to appeal this decision and police have continued to arrest people who have peacefully opposed the ban. Amnesty International has intervened in this case because the Palestine Action ban was a grave misuse by the government of sweeping counter terror powers.

Trump’s White House UFC fight this weekend has required more than seven federal agencies, hundreds of staff working onsite daily and at least $60 million, according to a legal filing. Quite a use of government resources for fight night. 🤔 apnews.com/article/trump-ufc…

Why does chaos always "unfold?" I stand firmly in my belief it should unfurl.

Ok, fellas, we see all your tags and we get it. But. Being a shitty person doesn't make someone a legitimate military target under international law. Climbing on a tank for internet clout isn't enough to become a combatant. Do something that actually qualifies — then we can talk. Until then, we'll keep our drones for real military targets 😉

Richard Burgon just exposed the most glaring double standard in British policy "Imagine if this weekend in London there was a Russian real estate event selling Ukrainian land. The government would ban it immediately. Instead, we have an Israeli real estate event openly advertising the illegal sale of land in occupied Palestinian territories. The government recognizes Palestine. Why isn't this banned?"

In this Imagine documentary of 2021 I go to Makerfield, Ashton in Makerfield. I will never forget the late great Alan Yentob weeping in the front room of my childhood home on Osborne Road. The one in front of the flower park. vimeo.com/1199811683?share=c…

This is utter bullshit. When Indonesia refused to grant the Israeli under 17 team visa’s for the 2023 U-20 World Cup, FIFA stripped Indonesia’s hosting rights and moved it to Argentina. So @FIFAcom can stop with the lies.
Replying to @DaleJohnsonBBC
"FIFA is not involved in host country immigration processes, including visa adjudications, and has been informed by authorities that Mr Artan’s status will not be changed at present. 2/3

Big up, Uncle Ian Wright for speaking up, and he's 100% correct. Look how Qatar got dragged when they were hosting the World Cup.

HOW is a nation that bid to host the World Cup ALLOWED to not admit all the participants in the country? HOW isn't this a PREREQUISITE to let you host the whole thing? What are we even talking about?
