The answer is NO. Here's a patient with neuroblastoma who was treated 18 years ago with GD2.CAR T cells at Baylor @CAGTHouston and still remains in remission. We need more of these stories. researchsquare.com/article/r…

Matt Rea was treated with CD19 CART cells back in 2010 at Baylor @CAGTHouston and has been cancer-free since then, for 14 years. The CAR-T were made from his twin brother. Is he the longest surviving CAR-T patient? blogs.bcm.edu/2024/06/04/fol…

3⃣T-cell malignancy reports were ➡️12 TCL NOS, 3 peripheral TCL, 2 LGL, 1 AITCL, and 1 intestinal TCL. 4 out of the 6 approved products had TCL reports #mmsm #lymsm

4⃣ # of reports is low to infer risk More reports and follow-up may shed more light A dedicated consortium or tissue bank is ideal to study this risk further and inform decision making/cell therapy development #malignancyRisk

1⃣Concerns about CART malignant potential have risen after FDA reported CAR TCL cases in patients who received CART. As recipients grow, so do later adverse events not well-captured in trials. #CART #FDA

2⃣ FAERS is key for drug safety signals. We found 19 T-cell malignancy post-CART, 0.1% of AEs after CART in FAERS. Reporting odds analysis showed ⬆️ odds for TCL reporting with Tisa. Myeloid neoplasms and certain solid tumors also had ⬆️ reporting odds #riskAnalysis

Our work on second primary malignancies after CAR T cells is out @BloodJournal Key take home➡️ 19 T-cell malignancies were reported after CART in FAERS database. However, longer follow-up needed to fully understand the risk #CART #fda #mmsm #lymsm ashpublications.org/blood/ar…

Hot off the press! Our work on second primary malignancies after commercial CAR T cells is out today in Blood. The FDA released scant information regarding the cases of T cell malignancies after CAR T therapy. Here, we provide more context by diving deep into the FDA Adverse Events Reporting System (FAERS). How price per pill of lenalidomide kept on rising in USA 🇺🇸. 22 times the price was raised . From 215 $ in 2005 to 763 $ in 2020. And what all Tricks of the trade played by Celgene to keep the price high and block the entry of generics. And when most of the research was funded by government aided grants. 🤫 This is shocking and insane. I don't know how health economy in USA 🇺🇸 is able to sustain this and will it collapse on one fine day ?? 🤔 And just to compare the same pill is available for close 2 to 3 $ in India 🇮🇳 @JCOOP_ASCO @asco @5_utr @AaronGoodman33 @ManniMD1 @VPrasadMDMPH @Dr_AmerZeidan @dr_yakupergun @DrYukselUrun @NicoleKuderer @gary_lyman

3) So we did the math. Medicare alone spends ***$5 billion*** on Revlimid each year. US could buy all of it for $20-$100 million (Finland/Canada prices)—saving $5 billion. Every year!! From just this one cancer drug alone!!! But instead, we cut food stamps & kids healthcare. 🔥 Thanks @VincentRK

Yeah … Our paper got accepted! We conducted years of research, spent countless hours to analyze, interpret, & write the manuscript. Editors & reviewers voluntarily spent their time ensuring its quality. Now, we need to pay $4,430 so that you can read it. Isn't that ridiculous?
