@CHRISBARYOMUNS1 World Health Organization needs to urgently revise their Public Health Emergency of International concern declaration given the fact there has been no Ebola confirmed cases in the last one week. As @KagutaMuseveni explained , there no new cross border cases . The visit of @DrTedros and his statement that Uganda has managed the Ebola situation very well is another reason @WHO should act now so that the rest of the World can rift these punitive travel restrictions that are killing our economy.

President @KagutaMuseveni today witnessed the signing of a landmark agreement between @UG_Airlines and @Boeing for the acquisition of 10 new aircraft, a major step in expanding Uganda’s aviation capacity and global connectivity. I am in #Uganda, where the government has mounted a prompt and capable response to the outbreak of #Ebola. Screening at the borders helped detect cases arriving from neighbouring #DRC, and the country’s surveillance, testing and case management systems are doing steady work. Of the 19 confirmed cases so far, 14 were among people who entered from DRC and five are Ugandan nationals. Sadly, two people from DRC have died, and our thoughts are with their families. @WHO is supporting Uganda, alongside @AfricaCDC and partners across the region, as the country leads this response. With continued collaboration, I am confident this outbreak can be brought under control.
