Grateful to @utennpress for making this book. It's written for ordinary people ready to take reality seriously: not without the comfort of tears, but without false hopes or make-believe about how our #collapse is going. Taking polycrisis seriously opens new, real possibilities.
Out today! Ira J. Allen's "Panic Now?: Tools for Humanizing" is a master class in how to create more humanizing outcomes by confronting the panic that comes with the realization that the world as we know it is ending. Order your copy today wherever fine books are sold!

Quick! Let's make sure we hear from a person whose professional job is PR spin! It's the only way to get the truth of the matter! Hard to overstate how much being Dem aligned today is just a commitment to being gaslit at all times.
Former Biden press secretary Karine Jean Pierre on the post-debate fall-out. “It was a firing squad…I had never seen anything like that before…that was shocking, shocking…It was truly, truly unfortunate. And I think it hurt us more than folks realized.”

It is entirely possible that the United Health CEO was killed by a corporate-hired hitman due to the huge lawsuits happening, Like the Boeing whistleblowers who were killed and that evidence was planted on Luigi Mangione to frame him. I dont know- but its possible.

I don't have much use for Maddow in general, but good for her here in trying to get the Dems to be *for* anything at all. And Jeffries with just the nothingest and most Dem Party imaginable response: "We're ALREADY doing a great job!"
Maddow tries to shake @RepJeffries into meeting the moment: "Policy doesn't feel like the main conversation… we are in the middle of a Ketamine-fueled middle of the night autocratic power grab rendering Congress irrelevant, making the rule of law an afterthought if not a joke."

3/ 🔭 Extractivism is a lens through which we can look at capitalism. When we look through that lens we see... violence.

So now we’re in an awkward situation where a lot of centrists agree with Bernie’s basic critiques and recognize the value of the enthusiasm he inspires while also being unwilling to fold themselves within his project because they still want to be the ones directing the agenda.

It's one word, Michael. How much could it cost? Ten dollars?

It is absolutely maddening how much the left's *failure* to have a fucking MATERIAL analysis--relations of production are changing!! a stable climate and corresponding infrastructure is breaking down!!--shapes an endless series of sheerly ideational takes on fascism.

The last 8 or 9 years have shown that having graduate degrees, Phds, even renowned awards and high professional standing in the academy gives less political insight than it does sophisticated tools to express your views.
It's as though prestigious political scientists are, like, part of an, I dunno, ideological superstructure of some sort. You know, a "professional managerial class," so to speak.

Remember that time Joe Biden had 4 years to declare a climate emergency to fast-track urgently needed action, and didn't do it. And then Trump just made up an energy emergency on Day 1 to fast-track oil & gas projects we didn't need at all? That was cool. theguardian.com/us-news/2025…

I have never yet met a person who talks and thinks in terms of IQ who struck me as themselves unusually clever. These three deserve each other.
He's an exceptionally smart and accomplished guy. The much better take is that high IQs serve as a force multiplier for both positive and negative traits.

One of the biggest distortions in American cultural life comes from the fact that the PMC, who are good at the politics of eliteness, think they are therefore also good at popular politics.

Not trying to be funny, but this isn’t a good title for the tour. A lot of the people you’re trying to reach don’t know what oligarchy means, and certainly not within the context of their everyday life.

It is basically impossible to overstate how much this should tell EVERY regular person, i.e., non-oligarch, in the world that economists are not working for you.
