Ontario has now updated their hospital data to disclose that, as of today’s numbers, 46% of general covid hospitalizations are incidental and 17% of covid ICU numbers are incidental.

I can confirm that the Ontario government still has not removed incidental hospitalization numbers from its COVID data.
“We started the data collection from hospitals and public reporting will start in the near future,” the Ministry of Health told me today.

Good news and I should say, a warning. Hospital cases need to be counted properly and not be inflated in order to push for more restrictions.

We need to focus on the severity of #Omicron cases & not just case counts.
The hospital capacity at #Brampton Civic is strong. We are down to only 2 in ICU and only 20 in the hospital with #COVID19.
There is reason for cautious optimism and hopefully better days ahead in 2022!

We don’t claim, “COVID these days is more mild.”
