“Yeah, there should be a debate. They said they were going to do a debate. They didn’t put out the criteria publicly... I’ve heard secondhand what the criteria was...it’s counterproductive when you try to engineer an outcome."

Florida Supreme Court declines emergency intervention in challenge to Florida’s 2026 congressional map.
The majority says it lacks jurisdiction to step into the case while an appeal is still pending at the 1st DCA.
Justice Labarga dissented, arguing the election timeline and statewide importance warranted Supreme Court involvement now.
Result: The challenged map remains in effect as candidate qualifying continues this week, and the litigation moves forward.
