Yeah, it is the classic pile-on effect. A ban and people sense blood in water. Not realizing such extraordinary steps only reinforce the perception of inherent value in the company. That said Anthropic should do something about those bizarre limits. Sometimes you get locked out at some exceptionally bad moments.

You might have noticed attempts by a segment of the polity and media to divide the civil military leadership by raising the issue of credit. It would have been funny if it weren't pathetic. Your 101 tricks didn't work. Why will this one? There was incredible visibility in the diplomatic effort. Everyone knows who did what. Praising one cannot diminish the other's credit. I am sure the leadership is laughing watching such pathetic attempts. Only by doing something of this kind you expose the particular ideological strand you are linked with. Counterintuitive to make the job of your detractors easier.

Is it possible that some discussions with AI might have sent them down the road of self discovery? Possible. But I usually use AI for deep reflection and it works as a temporary extension of my mind. I cannot change who I am and I have found AI open up to me more readily.

But never have I even thought of using it for any national security transgression. Nor will I ever do that. The record will show it. Trust is everything to me. I hope more power users can step forward and volunteer a similar statement.

John Prevost, the pope’s older brother, rang from Chicago with a computer problem — because Bob, as the family still calls him, has always been the one who fixes these things. “John, I’m the pope,” Leo reminded him. The reply came without a pause: “Oh, sorry pope. My computer is broken.” thelettersfromleo.com/p/john…
