Why do they want to speak a language that only 500 million people in the world speak if English is spoken by 1.5 billion people? To attract attention? To annoy? The World Cup is a global event and we all understand each other in English! (Spanish) nationalism is a disease.

My solidarity with the 600 singers who were expelled from the Sagrada Família yesterday after moving and dazzling the world with their voices.
It is a serious, worrying and incomprehensible fact in a democracy.
This requires explanations.

A century ago, the Flemish press reported the death of Antoni Gaudí like this. It is a clipping from the newspaper Het Handelsblad. At all times it refers to Gaudí as Catalan and as a prominent figure in Catalonia. Despite being news from Spain, Gaudí's identity was unequivocal.
Fa un segle, la premsa flamenca informava així de la mort d'Antoni Gaudí. És un retall del diari Het Handelsblad. En tot moment es refereix a Antoni Gaudí com a català i com a figura prominent de Catalunya. Tot i ser una notícia "d'Espanya", la identitat de Gaudí era inequívoca.

#Katalanisch ist die 4.Sprache, in der die Bibel gedruckt wurde (nach Lateinisch, Hochdeutsch und Italienisch). 1478 wurde die 1. katalanische Bibel in València gedruckt. Und schon im 13.Jh. gab es eine handschriftliche Übersetzung ins Katalanische.

Amb la visita de Lleó XIV és bo recordar que el català fou la quarta llengua en què s'imprimí la Bíblia, només per darrere de la versió llatina, la de l'alt alemany, i la toscana. Es va imprimir a València el 1478. I es té constància d'una primera traducció al català del 1287.
