There are alarming reports of settler violence coming from the occupied West Bank: the demolition of homes, relentless expansion of illegal Israeli settlements, ongoing displacement of Palestinians, the threat of an attempted annexation that would – like the decades-long occupation – have no legal validity. The risk of making a two-State solution impossible – when there is no other viable option. And throughout, the presumption of impunity. These injustices must stop. Countries must comply with all their obligations under international law. No exceptions.

In Gaza, 1 in 5 households survives on just one meal a day. Many families are forced to borrow money or resort to desperate measures to get enough food. @WFP has expanded its life-saving operations, but the situation remains extremely fragile. wfp.org/emergencies/palestin…

We are alarmed by sustained violations of the rules of war and IHL across the Middle East. Thousands of civilians have been killed and injured just in the last month. Hundreds of thousands displaced. All parties must protect civilians and infrastructure. bit.ly/4c6ouD2

Humanitarian leaders urge Israeli authorities to reconsider plan to ban international NGOs in OPT. INGOs deliver close to $1B aid annually. As winter deepens suffering, restricting NGOs risks ceasefire progress. Humanitarian access is a legal obligation bit.ly/3N1AyLI

Lasting peace in the Middle East will never be built through more violence. We need an immediate and permanent ceasefire, an immediate & unconditional release of all hostages & unhindered humanitarian access. The two-State solution is the only path forward: Israel & Palestine, living side by side in peace and security. We must seize this moment with a united commitment to diplomacy, international law & the dignity of all people. I told the Security Council that there are responsibilities each member must uphold & urged them to act. un.org/sg/en/content/sg/stat…

Israel, as the occupying Power, has clear obligations. It must ensure the provision of food, water, medicine, and other essentials. It must agree to and facilitate far greater humanitarian access. It must protect civilians and civilian infrastructure. And it must end the destruction of that which is indispensable for the survival of the civilian population in Gaza. I appeal once again for an immediate and permanent ceasefire, unfettered humanitarian access across Gaza, and the immediate and unconditional release of all hostages. No more excuses. No more obstacles. No more lies.

🚨 “Last Saturday, we witnessed one of the darkest moments yet in a conflict that has shocked our common humanity to the core.” – Dr. Younis Alkhatib, PRCS President, at the UN Security Council. A mass grave was uncovered—15 first responders were killed and buried. Among them were 8 PRCS paramedics, 6 civil defense members, and 1 UN officer. Their only mission was to save lives. One medic, Asad Al-Nasasra, remains missing. “The voices of Mostafa, Ezzedine, Saleh, Refaat, Mohammed Bahloul, Mohammed Al Heila, Ashraf, and Raed are calling for justice. Can you hear them?” #NotATarget #Gaza #UNSecurityCouncil

A tragedy against humanitarian work. The Red Crescent emblem, meant to protect you, has instead become the shroud that wrapped your bodies. Mustafa Khafaja, Ezzedine Shaat, Saleh Ma’amar, Rifaat Radwan, Mohammad Bahloul, Ashraf Abu Labda, Mohammad Al-Heila, and Raed Al-Sharif.

15 emergency & aid workers in Gaza – from @PalestineRCS, Palestinian Civil Defense and UN - were found buried by their wrecked & well-marked vehicles. Our condolences to their families.

They were killed by Israeli forces while trying to save lives. We demand answers & justice.
1/6 First responders should never be a target. Yet today @UNOCHA supported @PalestineRCS and Civil Defense to retrieve colleagues from a mass grave in #Rafah #Gaza that was marked with the emergency light from one of their crushed ambulances.
