I am going to take a little break from posting daily pattern block designs. Creating and sharing them has been a rewarding journey, and I am grateful for everyone who has followed along. I will be back with more designs in the future! #21CenturyPB

Problem of the Week 175! Please do not comment the solution so others can work it out too. Instead, like this post or comment a thumbs up if you think you have the correct answer! The solution will be posted in the comments on Thursday afternoon. #Problem #UKMT #Maths

โœจ Sometimes students just need to see it. Rectangular arrays make division visible, helping students recognize patterns and build confidence with their division facts. ๐Ÿงก Explore more at: fluency.amplify.com. #MTBoS #ITeachMath

What starts as a simple card game turns into rich mathematical thinking. In this Krypto lesson, students test strategies, debate solutions, & build a deeper understanding of the order of operations, all while trying to beat the puzzle. Try it out: nctm.link/NSqCZ

Taught my students to play Spoons, or in my classroom Markersโ€ฆ Simple probability (get 4 of the same card) Lots of action (everyone is moving) Quick games (about 2-3 minutes per game) And kids have to multitask for real (not their fake โ€œoh Iโ€™m multitaskingโ€ while using a phone)

I have two shuffled 52 card decks. If I reveal one card from each deck at the same time and I exhaust the decks, what's the probability of flipping the same exact card at least once?

Floor(x) = the largest integer less than or equal to x. e.g. Floor(3.1) = 3, Floor(3) = 3, Floor(2.9) = 2, Floor(-3.1) = -4. Desmos can draw the graph of y = x^2, but not its chunky counterpart Floor(y)=(Floor(x))^2. What should the chunky graph look like?

Math, physics. I love this plate because it feels like watching a civilization reverse-engineer the universe with nothing but ink, curiosity, and geometry. These diagrams feel like the marginalia of enlightenment: notes from an era when even a simple lens felt like a portal. From: Table of Opticks, from the 1728 Cyclopaedia, Volume 2.

Here's a cool pattern: If we divide the first n positive odd numbers by the next n positive odd numbers, we will always get 1/3. Here's why this makes sense.
