EACOP has placed profits over people, risking livelihoods, ecosystems, and the future of millions. Development should never come at the cost of communities, human rights, and a livable planet. The question remains: who truly benefits, and who bears the consequences? #stopEACOP #climatejustice #peopleoverprofit #makepolluterspay

Oil companies are not climate leaders. Gas corporations are not development partners. Polluters are not welcome in spaces deciding our future. We demand people before profit. #KickPollutersOut. #GlobalWeekOfAction

(1) @TotalEnergies , you cannot hide behind green slogans while funding repression. You speak of transition and responsibility. Yet in East Africa, your actions tell a different story. You push the EACOP project forward while communities lose land, livelihoods, and safety.

This video breaks my heart 💔 Slavery didn’t end, it was just modified. This is a group of young Ugandans carrying a white man on a stretcher to experience Gorilla trekking. What are your thoughts on this?

Everything in me is troubled by men like you and him who think it is acceptable to speak about our daughters that they have stolen from you, when in reality there is nothing to steal in the first place.

This is a great precedent for the education sector. Importantly the Court emphasizes the need to make formal decisions. You admit student based on “transfer of credit”, they enroll, pay fees, study for the rest of the course, you vet her to be Guild president telling the whole world she is on normal progress, at the gates of graduation, u claim she must resist year one? The court says that’s irrational in absence of formal communication about the requirement to redo courses and breaches the students legitimate expectation. Such cases ideally should always be settled since the injustice is always in black and white. Congratulations to @samanthmwesigye for not giving up
CASE ALERT: The High Court has delivered a ruling against @UCUniversity that provides a framework for the transfer of university credits in admission processes. The decision is a novel and important development in Uganda’s higher-education law. It establishes that the transfer of university credits is not merely an internal administrative discretion where a university’s policies, representations or prior conduct create a legitimate expectation that credits will be recognised. Well done to the team that led on the mandate @elisonk @FERDINANDIUS kaa.co.ug/samantha-mwesigye-…

The High Court Civil Division has ordered @UCUniversity @uculaw to pay its former Guild President Samantha Mwesigye Ugx.100m in general damages for failing to transfer her first year law credits obtained from @KingsCollegeLon and irratiinally blocking her graduation. The verbal communication by the Vice Chancellor and the Dean School of law has been quashed. What a case in advancing the rights of students!!. Thanks to @KAAdvocates and my Arsenal friend @FERDINANDIUS for this win.

Delighted to teach students of St. Thereza Girls Secondary School, Masindi District on how to make reusable sanitary towels for better menstrual health and dignity. There should be no shame in menstrual periods, let’s end the stigma. Happy Heroes Day Uganda 🇺🇬

Oooh Dear Sydney, I can’t say how sorry I am that cruel humans took your life in broad daylight, that they choose violence over harmony and peace.. denied you an opportunity to just be a human who could have been misunderstood. May your departure be a reflection of our humanity, and understanding of power. All I have is a pen for reflection… Rest in Peace. substack.com/@merisha1/note/…

Police have raided a home in Nkumba, Katabi Town Council, rescuing over 50 upcountry youth lured by Alliance in Motion Global with false promises of lucrative jobs. Instead, the victims were conned out of their money and forced into online fraud schemes targeting other Ugandans. The incident highlight's Uganda's worsening youth unemployment crisis, which leaves desperate graduates vulnerable to sophisticated job cartels and human trafficking networks. A manhunt is underway for the facility's administrators, who remain at large. Investigations are ongoing. #MonitorUpdates 📸 @KamanaIvan

Climate related disasters are doing more than destroying homes. They’re breaking our norms. 📍Children are sharing tents with parents in internally displaced camps. 📍 Children leave in constant fear and anxiety. Seasonal changes that were once celebrated are now a cause of panic 😔. 📍Daughters are being married off early because food is scarce. 📍Traditions we’ve held for generations are being rewritten by floods and displacement. Climate justice _is_ social justice. When the land suffers, culture suffers. When ecosystems collapse, childhood collapses too. This World Environment Week, let’s reflect on both our individual, collective role in protecting both our environment and the traditions that make us who we are ! History will bear us witness, that when our community needed a Voice, we stood up to be the Voice. What Will Tomorrow Ask of Us Today? #WorldEnvironmentWeek #PreserveOurCulture #ClimateActionNow #EmpowerYoungClimateLeaders
