Enough loose "craft" and "taste" posts. More of these types of show-don't-tell walkthroughs on what it means to teach LLMs to produce better on-brand, higher-fi artifacts and outputs.
Great thread 👇🏼
we just wrapped our Spring quarter at @diabrowser. before i jump to the next big thing (!), a short behind-the-scenes on one of my favorite projects to date: artifacts!
the design challenge: how do you make AI-generated docs that don’t *feel* AI-generated? (🧵 1/10)
If you listen to ONE song today, let it be the piano genius of Joe Sample & @thecrusaders accmp'd by @royalphilorch on "Fly With Wings Of Love" from Royal Jam. open.spotify.com/track/245Em… This is one of my all-time fav records.
If you listen to 1 more → "Street Life" w/ B.B. King.
For most jobs, you get one shot to make a great impression per cycle. Don’t shoot yourself in the foot w/ simple mistakes. Hiring mgrs often have 1000's of apps. If a link is broken, or portfolio is missing, we move on quickly.
Some simple tips to set you up for success.

Honestly, these are the #1 and #2 reasons for rejections over the past 25 years of building teams:
1. Candidate did not meet minimum qualifications
2. Candidate was a location mismatch
But nipping at their heels are folks who didn't provide a portfolio link, their link didn't work, and/or they didn't provide a working password.
I'm sure I've missed hiring skilled and talented designers who just failed at the resume step, which is sad for both of us.
Beautiful and useful work on this site, @emilkowalski and @glennui!
While people differ in the way they name components, would love it if we could all just agree on naming for a STANDARD set of minimal viable components. Great start here.
Well done. 👏🏼

The industry keeps telling young designers to “learn AI or get left behind.”
How about:
• learn color theory.
• learn typography.
• learn how to present your work.
• learn to take feedback without dying inside.😁
It's surprising that (more) travel companies / hospitality brands haven't figured out that this is the way. They need apps with each LLM assistant, an MCP server, etc.
I want to be able to just tell @ChatGPTapp or @claudeai to book my @united flights / @MarriottBonvoy hotels.
Check Designs: Keep every file synced to your design system with
→ Variable & style suggestions
→ Color contrast suggestions
→ Library mismatch detection
→ Detached component detection
"Design vs code" is a false dichotomy.
