At Amazon, if one parent works for Amazon and the other doesn't, the one who doesn't work at Amazon can stay home and Amazon will pay leave. So for example if a mom works for Amazon, we'll pay for her spouse to have paternity leave from another company.
When I look at jobs now I check their paternity leave policy instead of their maternity policy. Basically everywhere has the same maternity leave… but paternity leave says a LOT about what the company thinks about women as a reflection on if they think men do childcare.
