Little E2V1 Update
Also a quick heads for some of the testers who are getting stuck when trying to spawn a Character. We identified an issue where if you are using a GIF image for your Earth 2 profile photo it will cause problems when spawning a Character - gotta love software development!
There is a fix for this issue coming in the next update, but for now, if you change your Earth 2 profile photo to a standard JPG or PNG image then you should no longer get stuck when spawning Characters.
This is almost certainly the case with TechOps, who has a GIF profile image, but other Players with GIF profiles will also likely be experiencing the same issue without realising it's their GIF profile causing it. So I just wanted to get this info out early.
We are also making further improvements to the location system, specifically in multiplayer mode. It has only taken an extra 1 week so far but worth mentioning as it is the main reason for the delay.
When it is ready I believe we will be releasing as 0.1.4.1.
The update should include:
🌏further improvements to the location system and multiplayer - this should fix random Mentars and Characters sometimes appearing in the sky
🌍further improvements for multiplayer Character syncing over long distances
🌎an improvement to the location system which should reduce yeeting
🌏a fix for Mentar spawning that should improve the ability to spawn a Mentar - something we release that some testers were having issues with.
If you are experiencing the Mentar spawn issue, please wait for the next update before trying again, otherwise you're just retesting a bug we have not released a fix for yet.
QA testing for all of the above are looking good, but as always, nothing is ever certain with software development, so after we release the new
#E2V1 version we will monitor & make further fixes or improvements if issues still persist.
This is all part of the Pre-Alpha testing process, for any project, not just ours. It helps us identify issues, resolve them & make improvements for better long term stability of the platform.
