The potential for benzoyl peroxide to break down into benzene, particularly when exposed to high temperatures, is concerning. However, we need complete data transparency from Valisure (e.g. appropriate storage conditions) and we also need to be thoughtful about absolute risk.
Reports of high levels of #benzene —a cancer-causing chemical— in skincare products have generated concern and fear But the viral claim that these products can cause cancer isn’t substantiated by evidence. We explain why. Reviewed w/ @DrJohnBarbieri science.feedback.org/review/…

The paper you’re quoting shows that the trace amounts of vaccine found in some people’s breast milk up to 48h post-vaccination (and which we have known about since 2021) is not functional.
In some ppl, trace amounts of #CovidVaccine mRNA are found in #breastmilk up to 48h post-vaccination. But is this mRNA functional? 👉🏻 75 - 88% of it not in tact 👉🏻 Spike protein not detected 👉🏻 Gut cells given milk mRNA do not make spike protein 🧵… thelancet.com/action/showPdf…

The discoveries by Katalin Karikó and Drew Weissman – awarded the 2023 #NobelPrize in Physiology or Medicine – were critical for developing effective mRNA vaccines against COVID-19 during the pandemic that began in early 2020. Through their groundbreaking findings, this year’s laureates have fundamentally changed our understanding of how mRNA interacts with our immune system. They have contributed to the unprecedented rate of vaccine development during one of the greatest threats to human health in modern times.

Yes to this critique of @joerogan's #debatebobby call from @drskyskull: "In order for a debate to actually be worthwhile, both participants must be sincerely dedicated to finding the truth; if one side is not committed to the truth, they will have an advantage, because it is much easier to spout falsehoods than it is to refute them." Resonates with @AndrewDessler's latest post on the debating science (as distinct from policy), and he makes this valuable added point about the goals of those committed to a cause more than the truth (climate context): "It’s important to understand that the contrarian may not even be trying to win the debate. Rather, the goal of those opposed to climate policy is often to merely establish the existence of a debate and use this to argue that 'more research is needed'." theclimatebrink.substack.com… Also read @BrandyZadrozny's disturbing look at @RobertKennedyJr's presidential-race logic: "The conspiracy candidate: What RFK Jr.’s anti-vaccine crusade could look like in the White House" yahoo.com/lifestyle/conspira…

This is an excellent point. The performative debates that some folks on social media want to see are simply not how science does it’s work.
