The road to American energy dominance runs through Southeast Texas, and @Port_Houston is leading the way. This morning, I was honored to join @SecretaryWright to discuss how our region’s ports and energy producers are powering America’s economy and securing our energy future.

Under the Biden administration, American energy was crippled by “green” policies, ESG requirements, and progressive special-interest groups. Coal, natural gas, and hydro-powered electricity plants were at risk of closure, tracking us toward a massive energy shortfall. This anti-growth mindset prevented us from harnessing America’s abundance, leading to energy scarcity and rendering us dependent on foreign nations for energy. As @RepKeithSelf highlighted, American LNG exports play a critical role in strengthening our allies and reducing Europe's reliance on Russian energy.   At a time of growing geopolitical uncertainty, American energy remains one of our nation's most powerful strategic advantages.

“Thirty-four years of subsidy for wind weren't enough to get an infant industry off its feet and going? Thirty-four years, to me—if you can't compete without subsidies after thirty-four years, your industry doesn't work.”   @SecretaryWright wasn't buying the argument.

Secretary Wright pushes back on claims that the Administration is narrowly focused on fossil fuels.   He argues that real energy policy is about innovation, affordability, and reliability—not spending billions of taxpayer dollars picking winners and losers.

When I asked @SecretaryWright whether my Nuclear Rate Stabilization Act would help usher in a new era of American nuclear dominance, his answer was simple: yes. This bill lowers costs for consumers, unlocks investment in next-generation reactors, and helps ensure America has the reliable energy needed to power the future.

Governor Hochul keeps chasing activist energy mandates while New Yorkers get stuck with higher utility bills. @SecretaryWright is right: stop the grandstanding and do the math. New York is sitting on abundant natural gas resources, yet Albany refuses to use them.

I am grateful @SecretaryWright came to testify before @housescience today. Purdue is an advanced manufacturing powerhouse. I am glad Secretary Wright is pursing university-led manufacturing initiatives, which will help combat China and grow America's nuclear industry.
