The RNA extraction machine used by major hospitals to test for #COVID19 can run 14 samples at a time. If it's run 6x during a 12hr shift, that's ~84 samples/day.
My colleagues are starting a pop-up testing lab to increase that # 3-5x/day.

Here is the speech that the country *needed* to hear from the President tonight:
"My fellow Americans, the next few months are going to be hard. For many of us, harder than anything we've faced in our lifetimes.
Posturing like this is so bad for the long-term health of the american scientific program - I remember hearing stories like this when I was in grade school and thinking spending money like this was absurd.
Spoooooky molecules! From HTT to PRC2, from AGO2, to CD4 T cell, from cAMP to cap-dependent translation and many more. Oh and a mini wifi router. Happy Halloween from the Schaefer Lab!
