NEW: Recently we reported on L.A. honor student and track star Nory Sontay Ramos and her mom Estela, deported after a routine immigration check-in. Weeks after we met them in Guatemala, where they were in hiding, Estela died suddenly. With @kaybguerrero. msnbc.com/msnbc/news/death-e…

Trump’s budget rewards states that collaborate with ICE and participate in federal programs like 287g, which allows local law enforcement to act as immigration agents. @the_ILRC's new resource documents the expansion of police/ICE collaboration ilrc.org/immigration-dragnet

What can Congress members do to fight against these attacks and protect immigrant communities? 1. Oversight visits to ICE detention centers 2. Restrict and reject more funding for ICE 3. Oppose anti-immigrant legislation

Today, @NoMoreDeaths released a database & map of migrant deaths for the US/Mexico border, along with a report analyzing initial findings. I wrote about this important new resource, and the connections between US border violence and Israel's genocide in occupied Palestine (🔗⬇️)

🚨 US Supreme Court Limits Ability to Block Trump Policies Nationwide 🚨 Today, the Supreme Court ruled to limit federal judges' ability to issue nationwide injunctions — a major blow to efforts that block unconstitutional policies like Trump's attack on birthright citizenship🧵

Today's SCOTUS decision has given the Trump admin a path to erode 150 yrs of constitutional protections & severely limited the courts’ ability to restrain the govt from committing unconstitutional acts. We need action at the state level. It's time to pass the #ImmigrantTrustAct

ICE is blocking access to detention centers because they don’t want the public to see the horrific conditions inside.
I'm at the Broadview ICE Processing Center with my colleagues, trying to conduct oversight and we are being denied entry. We have reports that immigrants are being detained here without access to their attorneys, sleeping on the floor and without food. @repdeliaramirez @rep_jackson @RepDannyDavis

Congressional oversight is critical to evaluate ICE's historic spending to jail immigrants abusive conditions under this new phase of mass incarceration. Shame on ICE for blocking @RepChuyGarcia @repdeliaramirez @RepDannyDavis @rep_jackson from Broadview Processing Center today

Remind you of anything? New Jersey was ground zero. Like NYC Comptroller Brad Lander, @rasjbaraka and @RepLaMonica were doing their jobs to ensure their constituents' safety at Delaney Hall, which we now know was compromised by the inhumane conditions. njaij.org/eyesonice

Can’t stress enough that this did not happen. There is video and this simply did not happen.

This is outrageous. Another example of the Trump administration trying to silence dissenting voices and anyone willing to challenge their false narratives.
Senator Padilla’s office sends me this video of his take-down and detention at Sec. Noem’s press conference in L.A.
