Thrilled to announce my May start at @agecurve! The challenge: integrating RWD with expanding atlases, crafting unified manifolds across multiomic landscapes. πŸ‘‰ Unlocking insights into somatic state evolution and aging. #ComputationalBiology #DigitalTwins #SingleCell 🌐 1/3
happy to announce that @IssacEGoh is joining @agecurve as a senior computational biologist full time from May, Issac, currently at @HaniffaLab and a visiting scientist at @sangerinstitute, is a multitalented individual who aced the technical interview and he'll be joining us at #Cambridge @ideaSpaceCity office, please see thread below on this beautiful #SingleCell @humancellatlas @ScienceMagazine study dissecting the role of human yolk sac in haematopoiesis where Isaac was joint first author twitter.com/HaniffaLab/statu…

Aging research's big hurdle? Time. Experiments take years. But integrating RWD with multi-omic atlases changes the game. We'll be crafting a paradigm that accelerates insights into somatic evolution and potential interventions, with unprecedented precision. #AgingResearch 2/3

Enter digital twins: a transformative approach. By crafting unified manifolds with RWD, we're fast-tracking the journey to personalised aging models. This transcends traditional timelines, opening doors to real-time insights and interventions. #DigitalTwins #Bioinformatics 3/3

Fantastic study revealing several new functions of the human yolk sac during development, including monocyte-independent production of macrophages! Congratulations @IssacEGoh @BottingRachel @Muzz_Haniffa an co-authors πŸ‘πŸ‘πŸ‘

What a brilliant way to communicate core-concepts of your equations!
really love when authors do things like explain equations in-line with colors etc... just makes papers so much easier to read.

IMO this must be done in all comp bio papers. Without annotations, many model explanations in comp bio papers are very hard to follow. When explaining many inputs in the likelihood or many regularisation terms - you need to label what they mean. Easier to read -> more citations.

We also identify pre-specified TREM2 P2RY12 microglia-like cells in the YS (transcriptionally enriched in brain microglia signature) Microglia-like cells have also been observed in pre-natal gonads and skin (@emmamarydann et al & @roserventotomo et al) πŸ“· by Liz Tuck [6/12]

We observe a pre-AGM accelerated pathway to macrophage differentiation in the YS prior to monocyte emergence (also in iPSC scRNA-seq @ClaraAlsinet et al) Macrophages in the YS post-AGM are from proliferating macrophage pool and monocyte differentiation [5/12]

We find distinct waves of HSPC (redπŸ‘‡) lineage potential for different blood/immune cells before/after AGM contributions to haematopoiesis in YS. Our data are consistent with definitive HSPC predominance over primitive by 8 post conception weeks (@VincenzoCalvan3 et al) [4/12]

We detail haematopoietic stem progenitor (HSPC) emergence from hemogenic endothelium, also observed in iPSC scRNA-seq data (@ClaraAlsinet et al) similar to aorta-gonad-mesonephros (AGM) [3/12]

Our manuscript was just published in Science! Blessed to have co-led with the brilliant @BottingRachel, working with friends and collabs at @HaniffaLab, @sangerinstitute @Cambridge_Uni! Read about how we uncover the first emergence of blood/immune cells in human embryonic life!

New preprint alert! πŸ“’πŸ₯³ Using multiomic profiling of #SingleCell data we integrated and analysed ~180k cells from first trimester human yolk sac (YS) Our investigations recovered cells from the contents, membrane & vitelline duct [see vid below] Here's what we learnt [1/9]πŸ‘‡πŸΎ
