After two weird days as one of the few journalists inside the Four Seasons in Bahrain, I was left speechless by the Davos-esque Conflab on Palestinian Prosperousness, or “economic workshop,” hosted by Jared Kushner & co. Where do I begin? A thread.

There is no small act of resistance to the hatred, the violence, the racist especially when they are state-led. Human rights starts in the small places close to home and so does resistance. The people of Legrunne-sur-Mer just showed us how it is done. theguardian.com/world/2026/j…

Hell has frozen over because Sepp Blatter is suddenly the voice of reason.
A FIFA World Cup host country must guarantee two fundamental principles: the safety of the country — and the unrestricted entry of all qualified teams, officials and referees. The case of referee Omar Artan from Somalia is against one of these obligations. FIFA must never compromise the universality of football. #Fifa #Somalia #GianniInfantino #CAF #OmarAtan #DonaldTrump

🚨 EXCLUSIVE: EU foreign policy chief Kaja Kallas compared Israel to apartheid-era South Africa during high-level talks in Mexico – breaking ranks with the EU's official diplomatic line. This is bigger than a slip of the tongue. Here's why it matters. 🧵 1/6

🚨BREAKING: Filton 4 sentenced as terrorists Amnesty opposes the use of terrorism powers in this case. It is completely disproportionate to punish protesters for criminal damage as if they were terrorists, a sentence which stays with you for life. The defendants in today’s case were sentenced as terrorists because prosecutors want to make an example of them. Today's decision shows how direct action protesters could be treated in the future. The use of terrorism laws against direct action protesters must end. Together we must continue calling out the abuse of power and fighting for our right to protest. I’m a Palestinian football journalist who was in contact with the Palestinian Football Association during the genocide and has covered most of the sporting tragedy in Gaza, including the mass murder of athletes & mass destruction of the sports scene. There’s an obvious misunderstanding of the geopolitical events happening worldwide within the PFA and pressure from the very notorious Palestinian Authority on them. This is definitely not the position of Palestinians. The Palestinians’ position is clear: Ban the game against Israel.
The Palestinian Football Association has thanked the FAI following the decision to fulfil Ireland’s upcoming UEFA Nations League fixtures against Israel. In a statement released by the FAI, the Palestinian Football Association said: “The Palestinian Football Association expresses its appreciation for the principled positions taken by the Football Association of Ireland in support of the rights of the Palestinian people and Palestinian athletes. The Palestinian Football Association also affirms its respect for the decision made by the Football Association of Ireland within the framework of its sporting and international obligations.” The statement comes after the FAI confirmed that Ireland’s Nations League fixture against Israel on October 4th will be played at a neutral venue behind closed doors following approval from UEFA.

Jimmy Corry has lived on this Belfast street for 13 years. Now he’s homeless. He’s lost sentimental items forever, including his dad’s possessions. He told me that he shares the anger many feel about the attack on Monday night but that burning down houses won’t solve anything.
