Kimmel’s hateful and violent rhetoric is intended to divide our country. His monologue about my family isn’t comedy- his words are corrosive and deepens the political sickness within America. People like Kimmel shouldn’t have the opportunity to enter our homes each evening to spread hate. A coward, Kimmel hides behind ABC because he knows the network will keep running cover to protect him. Enough is enough.  It is time for ABC to take a stand.  How many times will ABC’s leadership enable Kimmel’s atrocious behavior at the expense of our community.

Mark Carney is seizing a costly Liberal majority that voters denied him, and doing so through backroom deals. In January, MP Gladu said that floor crossers should face voters in a byelection to give voters the final say. I could not agree more. She should do so. The people in her community voted for our Conservative vision of a Canada that is affordable, safe, and strong at home, not for the costly Liberal government she has now joined. She should honour her word and let voters decide.

Recently, I’ve been finding myself up all night trying to figure out what the hell is going on in the world and if we're on the verge of World War III… So, today I’m sitting down with Pierre Poilievre who is the leader of Canada's Conservative Party and Leader of the Opposition. He became one of the youngest MPs elected to Canadian parliament and has spent 2 decades fighting for working class people and fair opportunities. Pierre told me that he’s on a mission to make Canada the freest and most affordable place in the world, and he’s not stopping until that happens. To give you more context on his background, Pierre was adopted at birth by two school teachers who struggled financially and ended up losing multiple homes which meant that they had to start again from nothing several times throughout his childhood. That experience shaped what he believes about work, money, and fairness. When speaking about his parents, he told me that they taught him that it doesn’t matter where you come from. It matters what you do. That belief is now at the centre of everything he’s trying to change.

Un gouvernement du PQ adoptera une loi pour protéger la liberté d’expression Depuis de nombreuses années, comme chef, j’ai sonné l’alarme sur les différentes menaces à la liberté d’expression qui sont de plus en plus présentes dans notre société. Pensons à la censure dans les universités ou certains médias, la « cancel culture » qui nous pousse à ne plus utiliser certains mots ou aborder certains sujets. Tout cela est inacceptable en démocratie et je l’ai dénoncé à de nombreuses reprises. Maintenant, c’est l’agenda législatif du gouvernement caquiste qui vient introduire de nouvelles menaces à la liberté d’expression. Au Parti Québécois on est en désaccord profond avec ces nouvelles dispositions qu’on retrouve dans plusieurs projets de lois caquistes récemment adoptés ou déposés. Cette tendance qu’a le gouvernement Legault à contraindre des groupes au mutisme m'inquiète. On peut avoir des désaccords importants avec des syndicats ou une fédération de médecins par exemple, il peut y avoir des négociations ardues, mais limiter la liberté d'expression dans une société, c'est toujours la mauvaise réponse. Je préfère que les gens s'expriment et débattent sur le fond que d'être dans une société qui, petit à petit, contraint tout le monde à une forme de mutisme. C’est pourquoi un gouvernement du Parti Québécois légiférera pour abroger ces mesures du gouvernement Legault qui menacent la liberté d'expression. Cela touche la loi 1, 2 et 3, soit le projet de constitution québécoise et la réforme du régime syndical, ainsi que la réforme du mode de rémunération des médecins. Dans le projet de loi 3, je tiens à dire que je suis en désaccord profond avec l’utilisation des cotisations syndicales de certains syndicats (pensons à la FAE qui conteste la loi 21 par exemple). Je pense qu'il est nécessaire d'améliorer la reddition de comptes entre les membres des syndicats et la poignée de personnes qui les dirigent. Mais je ne pense pas que c’est aux fonctionnaires du gouvernement de faire la police autour de chaque geste de chaque organisation. Il y a déjà assez de bureaucratie de contrôle dans ce gouvernement et c’est notre engagement de réduire cette bureaucratie. Tout cela fera partie d'une loi plus large garantissant la protection de la liberté d'expression, tant dans les milieux académiques, dans les médias publics ou dans les organismes du gouvernement. C'est notre devoir de s'assurer de maintenir un débat démocratique qui est sain et libre.
