why is 'low float' a problem? They're building rocket ships, not boats

Today, we're launching a new version of Socket, rebuilt from the ground up. Over the last few months, the needs of builders have changed. So have we. • 8x faster execution • 150 integrations in production • Across 60 networks Most importantly starting today, the same infrastructure that has routed $30B for companies like Coinbase, Gemini, and Kraken is available for free. 0$ This is our first step toward becoming the network that routes {everything}

NEW: malware developers added nuclear & biological weapons text to to their spyware. Goal? To trigger LLM safety refusals... so that their spyware wouldn't be analyzed by an AI security scanner. Cleanest practical example I can think of for why over-indexing on first order safety alignment is risky. When closed (and open) models ship with aggressive refusals, they will be sprinkled with second-order blindspots that attackers will discover...and exploit. We are only in the earliest days of attackers leveraging these features, and it wouldn't surprise me if users systems that need to handle complex cybersecurity issues demand that models be less safety-blunted. In the weeds: @SocketSecurity's post also shows why intention matters in how you design a malware analysis pipeline to avoid prompt manipulation. H/T to colleagues that shared this with me socket.dev/blog/mini-shai-hu…

Wow. This is the way you want criminals to be talking about your anti-crime tech.
One of the most prolific criminals in all of San Francisco tells @adam22 that “crime in San Francisco is over with” because of Flock cameras drones. He complains that he can’t even do drivebys anymore. It’s simple: when the risk of getting caught is too high, crime plummets.

We’ve just raised $175M, in a round co-led by @paradigm, @a16zcrypto, and @RibbitCapital, the largest raise DeFi has ever seen. Credit is the bedrock of our civilization, but the infrastructure underneath is fragmented, extractive, and closed to most of the world. That is what @Morpho is here to change. Morpho is building the open credit network for the world. The global credit market is $ 200T. We are building the infrastructure layer that will move it onchain, and every institution, fintech, and bank that wants to participate in the next era of finance will connect to this network. After four years of being heads down building Morpho, we now count more than $11B in deposits and integrations with leading financial institutions including @Coinbase, @Binance, @FireblocksHQ, @SG_Forge, @krakenfx, @Bitwise, and dozens of others building on Morpho to offer better products to their users. But this is just the beginning. This raise will allow us to accelerate: activating the global credit network at scale, building the go-to-market engine to match our ambition, and bringing more institutions onto the network faster. Having any kind of onchain strategy in this era will mean going through Morpho at some point. Reach out and let's talk. And if you want to help build the open credit network for the world, we have plenty of open roles. Let’s fly 🦋
Morpho Association has raised $175M to build the open credit network for the world. Co-led by @paradigm, @a16zcrypto, @RibbitCapital with strategic participation from @apolloglobal, @vaneck_us, @circle_ventures, and @Ledger @Cathayinnov. The round also included participation from @variantfund, @wmt_ventures, @preludexyz, @IOSGVC, @HashKey_Capital, @sbigroup, @Bpifrance, @mirana, @bamazizimesh, NJJ Capital and 10 other strategic partners. The funding will help accelerate Morpho's position as the foundation for onchain credit.

70x forward revenue. That's what SpaceX wants the market to pay at its $1.75 trillion IPO, ~50% above the most expensive stock in the entire S&P 500. The current record holder, $PLTR, trades at about 47x. SpaceX is asking for a premium on top of the richest multiple in the index. The catch is growth. Palantir's revenue is projected to grow ~47% a year over the next three years. SpaceX sits closer to 15%, almost three times slower. So the pitch is 1.5x the priciest multiple in America for a third of the growth rate.

The class divide between being rich enough to live forever and the impermanent underclass is within our life time
just look at the timeline chad - demis hassabis, deepmind → isomorphic labs, $2.7B - brian, coinbase → newlimit, $3.1B - sama, openai → retro biosciences, $1.2B - jeff the chad from amazon → altos labs, $3B - larry, oracle → $430M into aging research - jensen from nvidia → backing programmable biology - dario, anthropic → acquired coefficient bio, $400M the most successful builders of the digital age are all being pulled toward the next biggest frontier, biology aging is basically an engineering challenge bio/acc.

BREAKING: The US technology sector has rallied 42% over the last 2 months, the largest 2-month gain in 24 years. This also marks the 2nd-strongest rally this century, surpassing even the 40% gain seen during the 2000 Dot-Com Bubble. The surge has been largely fueled by chip stocks, with the Semiconductor Index, $SOX, rising 66% over the same period. By comparison, the S&P 500 is up 16% while the Dow is up 10% over the same time period. Meanwhile, the S&P 500 is up 20% since the March 30th low, with the top 10 stocks contributing ~65% of the index's gains. Half of the top 10 contributors were semiconductor stocks. The AI trade is hotter than ever.

Aging is arguably the root cause of most major diseases (loss of function in our cells). Four years ago, we made a bet that aging was treatable, and NewLimit was born. NewLimit now has a prototype drug that reverses the age of some human cells (restores function they had when they were younger), and a clinical trial scheduled for next year (with more drug candidates in the pipeline). Grateful to Founders Fund, Thrive, Greenoaks, and the rest of the investors for this latest round. @jacobkimmel and the team are just getting started.
Following breakthrough results, we’re bringing longevity medicine to human trials. We’ve raised a $435M Series C led by @foundersfund to make it happen. Reprogramming cell age has the potential to create more healthy years for everyone. We're closer than ever to realizing it.
