Come join us at our next introductory course in metabolomics.
Are you passionate about metabolomics and nutrition? 🌟 Join our PhD course: Introduction to Nutritional Metabolomics! 🌟 The PhD course will provide a general overview of LC-MS based untargeted metabolomics, with a focus on nutrition, and will introduce students to all phases of a nutritional metabolomics study, including sample handling, data analysis, and the use of freely available tools. It will be delivered through lectures, ands-on data preparation and analysis, computer-based practical sessions, discussions, and visits to wet labs (no practical lab work). When: June 30th – July 4th, 2025 Where: Department of Nutrition, Exercise and Sports (@NEXSKU), University of Copenhagen Lecturers: ▶️ Assistant Professor Jan Stanstrup, NEXS @JanStanstrup ▶️ Associate Professor Henrik Munch Roager, NEXS @HRoager ▶️ Associate Professor Giorgia La Barbera, NEXS ▶️ Associate Professor Carl Brunius, Chalmers University of Technology, Sweden 👉 To find more information and to sign up, click here: phdcourses.ku.dk/DetailKursu… #PhD #PhDCourse #Metabolomics #Nutrition #NutritionalMetabolomics #NEXSKU @UCPH_Research @science_ku @chalmersuniv

Nice paper by Thomas Metz et al. "ID probability is defined as 1/N, where N is the # of compounds in a reference library or chemical space (CS) that match" I hold that conceptually N should be the *biologically plausible* CS to be considered in each case. biorxiv.org/content/10.1101/…

More biological knowledge can lower N, but can cause confirmation bias. ID should be a game of exclusion and thus we ought to report what we have excluded and the space we have considered.

A long week of our intense course in nutritional metabolomics has come to an end. Our fantastic students did their own pre-processing, statistics and identification of coffee biomarkers. We look forward to seeing the research they will do with their skills in the coming years.

#dkpol #uddpol altinget.dk/forskning/artike…

D-amino acids (coming from our #diet🧀 and gut #microbes🦠) could be much more biologically important in humans than previously assumed, potentially playing a role in gut-organ signaling and in many degenerative #diseases. 👀Read our new review here tandfonline.com/doi/full/10.…

.@RichardHaass: "This whole idea that if you're critical of Israeli policy, you're somehow anti-semitic, or anti-Zionist, or anti-Israeli...that's just nonsense— And we've got to be straight up about it and not give Trump or anybody else ownership of that argument."

Why do some individuals exhale methane while others don’t and what can a simple breath test tell us about our gut? Some of the questions we are trying to answer in the PRIMA consortium 🧪🧫🧬 check my poster at the Precision Nutrition Forum at #CBMR for preliminary findings 🤩
