We’ve written to the Chancellor, ahead of his fiscal plan, on the practical steps that can be taken to reduce energy demand in buildings.
This should be core to HMT’s exit strategy from the extraordinary sums going to the Energy Price Guarantee.

The whole of the South side of station road has gone through this over the last few years. Perfectly serviceable buildings that could have been retrofitted reduced to rubble to erect a set of identikit buildings. What a waste of carbon and resources
