Having a chief of police come out and basically say its ok that a firefighter punched out a mirror of a storm chaser because "trained weather spotter’s were disobeying any and all traffic laws." Is absolutely insane to me. I can understand being frustrated by the ungodly amount of storm chasers (some who clearly shouldn't even have a drivers license). But endorsing damage to property because you are upset and irritated, sets a very bad precedent. ESPECIALLY AS A CHIEF OF POLICE. I would guarantee that if I punched a firefighter/police officers mirror out because "i was frustrated", I would get laughed at and thrown into jail/written a ticket. That absolutely ruins public trust when you hold such a double standard and attitude like that. As a PUBLIC SERVANT you are expected to hold yourself to a higher standard than what I literally just witnessed on the internet. Absolutely unacceptable. As for the chasers blowing past first responders, you are no better and should get written a ticket also. Pathetic #wxtwitter
