Keeping kids safe online is essential, and common-sense solutions are key. That’s why we support meaningful privacy protections for teens, prohibiting ad personalization to minors, and companies doing more to understand users’ age. (1/3)
Google supports COPPA 2.0 and the protections it offers for kids and teens. We commend @SenMarkey and @SenBillCassidy for their leadership on the bill. markey.senate.gov/news/press…

(1/4) As the threat posed by cybercrime globally continues to grow, so too has the need for intergovernmental coordination. Google has long championed international agreements on this issue that both meet the challenge & feature robust human rights and due process protections.
SIIA and CCIA have sent a letter to U.S. officials, raising serious concerns over the proposed UN Convention Against Cybercrime, ahead of the upcoming vote of the UN General Assembly. buff.ly/40yxQlK

Incredible to see the expansion of this already-amazing work to predict “the structure and interactions of all life’s molecules.”
Thrilled to announce AlphaFold 3 which can predict the structures and interactions of nearly all of life’s molecules with state-of-the-art accuracy including proteins, DNA and RNA. Biology is a complex dynamical system so modeling interactions is crucial blog.google/technology/ai/go…

Seeing some qs on what Gemini *is* (beyond the zodiac :). Best way to understand Gemini’s underlying amazing capabilities is to see them in action, take a look ⬇️
Community note
Google has admitted that the researchers fed still images to the model and edited together successful responses, partially misrepresenting the model's capabilities. As noted on their youtube channel description provided a disclosure of video edits. bbc.com/news/technolog…

Fruitful visit to @Google campus and meeting with @Kent_Walker & other Google’s representatives. We discussed the recently adopted EU-US #DPF and alternatives for #Cookies. Any technological innovations need to be built on the strong trust of consumers.

Today is a good day for the EU’s digital economy: The EU-US Data Privacy Framework will promote the global vision of #DataFreeFlowWithTrust. Thank you @dreynders@vonderleyen, @WhiteHouse@SecRaimondo & your teams for establishing this new privacy and data protection framework.
We adopted our adequacy decision for the 🇪🇺🇺🇸Data Privacy Framework, following the agreement I had reached with @POTUS last year. I welcome the important commitments taken by the US. So that citizens can trust that their data is safe and so we can deepen economic ties.
