That should have been my first clue. Yesterday, at 10, she built a website to sell Girl Scout cookies via @Lovable . She wrote not a single line of code. Instead, she gave the computer a few plain spoken sentences, the same tone she uses to request bubble tea from me, and out came a functioning little shop, neat as you please. Naturally I’m proud of her, but I’m also quietly astonished. The world has a habit of sneaking its revolutions past us. One moment we’re teaching children loops and variables, the next they’re teaching us that none of it is required anymore. I always imagined the future would arrive in a blaze of chrome and fanfare. Instead, it showed up as a 10-year-old asking if I prefer Peanut Butter Patties or Thin Mints, and a website she conjured from thin air answering on her behalf.
