@tes article on reading for pleasure. Just because 'pleasure' is hard to define or mandate for, & much in modern life militates against it, doesn't mean we should abandon the idea of encouraging volitional, independent reading habits in young people.
I find this piece a bit frustrating, to be honest, for these reasons:
