Reflecting on a year of search, Iāve realized that like everything in life, the better you know yourself, the easier it is to find what you're looking for.
@Sam_Rosati's āBig 3, Little 2ā is a great starting point if youāre industry-agnostic, but itās just a starting point. You need to go deeper and more granular as you learn more about yourself through the process.
Specificity is key. When youāre clear about what you want, the world, universe, or whatever you believe in listens. People genuinely want to help but you just need to tell them how. When you're vague, it makes it harder for others to spot opportunities for you.
Clarity also makes your search more efficient. Quick nos come easier, you stop chasing deals, and you focus only on what truly fits. Often, chasing deals is a reflection of uncertainty about what you want rather than wanting something so badly.
It takes time and reps. Sometimes more time than others you know or what you planned for. Itās an evolution.
@AdamMarkleySMB has spoken about this before - find a way to stay in the game and keep learning.
